Dixie has been lurking all day. I am sure it is just to taunt me as he moves cardboard counters around...
Yep [:'(] Got the in-laws down for the week so it's a case of working my gaming around that [:(] I've been able to dabble with the turn, but I hope to get it back to you tomorrow.
On the subject of cardboard counters, the Falklands campaign ended on the 21st of May when Canberra hit a mine and sank. The loss of the liner along with 40 Commando, 42 Commando and the Welsh Guards has forced the Brits to withdraw and declare an end to hostilities on 29th May [:(] Port Stanley is renamed Puerto Galtieri, 29th May becomes Malvinas Day and Maggie resigns and moves to South Africa. [:(]

Over Maggie Thatcher's dead body!
Hmmm, turns out I may have done it wrong. After I turned down a SHAR raid on the mainland I've since found out that I
could have sent the SAS in to Rio Grande to destroy Exocet supplies on the eve of the landings. Damn. Destroying any of the Exocets would have given me enough domestic support to survive the loss of Canberra, the military situation would have still been dire though. [:(]
EDIT: The total British victory has (tongue in cheek) British troops landing on the mainland forcing the US to deploy troops to seperate the sides. Maggie goes on to lead the UK for another 30 years! Her successor is Tory PM Tony Blair [X(] Port Stanley is renamed Port Thatcher and 21st May becomes Maggie Day [:D]

Hey, nice catch, Aces8!
Yes, indeed-Happy Birthday, definitely-not-old-man Steve! I'll celebrate more appropriately with you by imbibing some good stuff next week.
Next week? I thought that was the week after? And here I went and had Offutt schedual their airshow around the schedual for you! [:D] Many thanks Andre! I'll get an email out to you this weekend.

Has he stopped counting yet? Do numbers even go as high as his age? [:'(]
Nope. I still count them , and have no problem with it. As I often tell my 80+ year old dad, "getting older beats the hell out of the alternative!". [:D]
How old am I? Well, if you don't want to cheat by looking at my profile, I was born in Esiehowers second term as president. (Esienhower was president?) [:D]
I was born in the year of Nautilas's 1st attempt at the pole (it failed). On my 4th birthday the Berlin wall went up. And I was born the same year as Sputnik! So there!
And I'm not so old that I forget turns, unlike some of my younger opponents.

Thanks. Glad I'm not completely senile (yet!). [:D]
http://www.offuttairshow.com/ If you have powerpoint , I've got the slides from the PAO of the 55Th wing (whose putting on the show) which show where and what the static displays are, as well as the schedual. BTW , besides Nebraska beer, is there any particular potable that I should have stocked for your visit? [&:] And do you by any chance like single malt? [&:]
We are definately looking forward to your visit. [:)]
And of course the flight path goes right over my backyard! [:D]

Blimey. You're
OLD!
On my birthday the 200 mile exclusion zone around the Falkland Islands was declared.
19 days after my fourth birthday Chernobyl caught fire.
On my seventh birthday the Soviet submarine Komsomolets sank.
Just doing my bit to bring an end to International Communism [:D]
My earliest memory is my second birthday. I fell off a climbing frame and managed to skin almost the entire bottom half of my face. So I could only eat jelly at my birthday party [:(]
Turns are not so much forgotten as delayed through operational necessity.

My favorite booze is what other people are stocking for me, Steve. [:D] I'm open to most tasty adult beverages, single malt Scotch or single malt Irish Whiskeys, blended Canadian whiskeys, Bourbon, Gin, Vodka...holy cow-I just realized that I'm an alky! [:D]
Since I'm your guest, it is customary for me to bring something that we can share accordingly. What are your and Lou's preferences, my good man?
I picked you up a little something in honor of your Birthday already. It's NOT a mantle-sized Yamato, although I did give that some thought. [:D]

During the Falklands war I was already a third class petty officer .And watching a FAA Seaharrier practice against a USMCR Skyhawk (I've told you that story) . When the Kosmomolets sank I was part of a crew flying on a Russian attack boat out of Keflavik Iceland, not far from where she sank. Upton our return to Kef, the duty intell officer ran out to our plane yelling "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU GUYS DO????". [:D] (Those Navy box lunches, powerful weapons).
One of my ealiest memories was the fact that some guy built this big wall in the middle of place called "Berlin" and did it my birthday! And the Cuban missile crisis (where all the local reservists were called up, and dad was thinking about building a backyard bomb shelter.).
Yes I'm old. What's so wrong with not being dead PUNK! [:D]
Operational necessity! Crap! Your just worried that now that you've sunk one of my carriers, and sent two others to the body and fender shop (ON THE 1st turn!), that I'm still going to kick your butt!!! And I AM! You know what they say about old age, experince and treachery beating youth and simple plain old LUCK!!![:D]

My bar is pretty well stocked (and seldom used) with lots of all of those libations (heck, I've even stocked Aquavites inclase "T" or Per show up). Yes, I have several Japanese libations for your alter ego (several Sakis, plum wine, Soju's and even Suntory single malt).
I can't think of a thing to bring , unless it's something related to you adopted home? [:)]

If your still planning on arriving Friday, I'd suggest lunch in my back yard (as we can watch the planes fly over as part of the rehersal). Followed by shooting , a brief tip to Offutt (to see the B-17,B-52,and KC-135) . Then the next day (sat) I'd recommend we get on the base early (courtesy of a base sticker and ID's).
Pretty much all of the exibts are confirmed , but it is light on the USN/USMC/USA side. (Like none). Probably because Linclon in Sept. is doing the Blue Angles and the 100th annv. Naval Air celebration.

Keep telling you, unless somebody drops a bag of money on my head, a trip to the US isn't happening. No work, no vacation, no goings anywheres...
