This is a bit of an anticlimax. [:(]
It left. My opponent knows that I have quite some planes in the Gilberts. These include divebombers, torpedobombers and lots of wildcats and corsairs. KB therefore cannot stay within the range of the TBFs and SBDs too long. At most of the islands the airfield level is 5 or 6 and one or more aviations regiments or HQs are present to support a massive strike. KB therefore seems to follow a guerilla warfare tactic, wherein it strikes unexpected and than covers one or two BB or CA TFs, which carry out a naval bombardment.

You do have an interesting quote .. "Soviets continue to bombard Soviet airfields .." Sounds like Red Star-White Star ..[8D] I am amusing the IJ are focuing on Soviet Airfields .. a good strategy since I beleive the game does not have aircraft replacement pools until '45 ..

I probably meant "IJ continues to bombard Soviet airfields.." Yes, there are only a few MiG-3 replacements and not much more, which is worrysome for the Soviet Air Force commanders. But the Soviet - German front is more important of course. And the Luftwaffe has to be taken out first.

I grounded quite some planes for a couple of surprises later on this year. An to shoot down a couple of unescorted bombers, when the fighters are back at the British, Australian and American fronts. Other than that everything is focussed on the war at land. The Japanese have a lot of divisions and I still do not have a clear picture where they are. My troops in the Vladivostok area are very strong. And if he doesn't attack there at some point, I will counterattack. Not sure in which direction yet. The problem is that the Japanese troops have cutt of Vladivostok from everything else. With such a vast amount of ground between Moskou and Vladivostok it was impossible to prevent.
