we spotted these destroyers going into position South East of Koepang and expected them to attack shipping at Darwin tonight and therefor the couple of freighters there left Darwin yesterday and only the torpedo boats were left behind... we had two Dutch and two US squadrons waiting for the enemy to come in and the Dutch are the first ones to tangle with the destroyers... not much of an outcome... Japanese Ships
DD Tachikaze, Mine hits 1, on fire, heavy damage
DD Numakaze, Mine hits 1, on fire, heavy damage
halve of the enemy destroyer squadron hit a mine at Darwin... mostly (if not all) VHII mines there but those could be sufficient to sink an IJN DD considering it's quite a long way to the next port...

only Hakaze is left in the SC TF with Okikaze acting as escort for the two damaged DD but our US PT squadron missed the lonely destroyer with all torps aimed at the ship... we lose four crappy AMc, the enemy has two heavily damaged destroyers... guess he won't be happy about that and he will think about sending in more of his ships...
