Diego Garcia invasion prob occurs in 4 game days. Invasion TF's are at ADDU.
Last ships at Pearl destined for future invasions based out of Brisbane
Subs - one lost, 7 ASW attacks, and 4 empire ships hit. sub war is kinda slow

Expect to start up amphibious warfare from Brisbane around march 1, 1945. targets to be described.

This will take some time clear, because I have to march across the island, but the end isn't in doubt.

RL got in the way - as usual. This is one atoll that I need to have, because I will need to ferry troops to and from OZ and DEI (When I invade). I can't have him getting pot shots and freebie searches.

Been a choppy week because of real life, but some progress has been made.

China - I have not really posted much about this, but I have been marshaling forces to Take Changsha, and the battle came to fruition this past turn.
Burma - the allies are across in one place on the river crossing, but still have several more to cross. main battle probably about 6 game days away, but it looks like I may be across.
Subs - 6 merchants hit / sunk in last 4 days and one sub lost.
Oz - Allies have mopped up all eastern and northern Oz and have invaded Tasmania. Pushing to Perth. Reconned Darwin, and it looks like the empire has completely evacuated. I am preparing to drop paratroopers from tenant creek as soon as possible.
Diego Garcia - invasion occurs this game turn.

Allied fleets are concentrated at Sydney and Brisbane. preparations are underway to resume amphibious war

Ironically, it looks like a single unit moved into the hex and arrived after the battle...that is weird, but then odd things happen in this game.

Burma about to be a big battlefield

The long awaited - and disputed DG invasion occurred this past turn. Short story, it will fall to the allies. He did not put a CD there, and the forces I massed for the invasion were enough to get on the island in good form. It should take a week or so to mop up the island.

Keep in mind that I had a BB in one amphib TF, the other three only had CLAA's. This loss is entirely unusual to me.

The level of fort does not affect the artillery opposition of the landings. If he had a unit like a Naval Fort or a Coast Defence Regiment they would have shot a few more ships up and disrupted the landings much more.

How did the LST and AP get damaged? Mines? Grounding?

I didn't pay attention because the attack was so successful. My opponent has since said that the 4E bombing concentration the last days before the invasion increased the disruption very high, and although he had quite a bit of supply, I got on basically for free.

Again real life takes over. But then I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I were retired and didn't have to travel. Oh yea - Id be playing these games.

The last three days have seen diego Garcia be reduced, and this turn the enemy garrison was wiped out.
The Burma river crossing happens next turn, so there will be a lot to talk about it after I get the results.
The remainder of the forces are consolidating for a push on Gili Gili area as a beginning to the new amphibious war...more on that in future turns
Subs - 4 enemy TK and AK sunk either near Balikpapan or around Iwo Jima. One allied sub lost.
In Oz - the allies are approaching Perth area and about to take Darwin, which also appears to be abandoned. I have been dropping paratroopers and leapfrogging forces via strategic movement to get Oz under belt soon.
Tasmania - approaching Hobart for final attack on the sole division protecting the island.

Will take about a week to take Darwin, recon suggests he has totally abandoned Darwin.
