T25 - OOB

although Griefhead has lost a lot of space, he's managed to preserve most of his army. That may give him some scope to get back onto some sort of equilibrium for 1942?

He did very well preserving his army. However, the lack of counter-attacks means that his units are low morale. Most of them have 2 CV. But I think 42 will be very interesting. Even the reduced blizzard is a very bad thing for the Germans.

The north is pretty quiet at the moment.

Two axis of attack. I think he is going for a large encirclement of Moscow. He already took Torzhok which is really bad because my defense depends on this city and Kalinin. I am immediately in trouble. Things look much better around Kaluga. Defensive CV is high and I plan to counter-attack at the first opportunity.

T26 - Orel/Kursk

I slowly retreat towards the cities. Once I reach Orel and Kursk I will stand my ground.

T26 - South

I give ground in front of Kharkov and I try to delay him at Voroshilovgrad and Rostov. A couple of counter-attacks with the mountain divisions.

If he's really going for a grand encirclement of Moscow I think he's being way too ambitious.
You've got a strong position to start the blizzard with. He'll be beating air in the South for most of his useful blizzard turns and you should be able to make Moscow impregnable.
What are the sudden death conditions in this game? I'm guessing it's house rules?

What are the sudden death conditions in this game?

I do not have the Sudden Death expansion but M60 explained this in a post not to long ago:
SD Conditions VPs at Beginning of 1st Turn

Apr-42 Ger 242
Sov 191

Ap-43 Ger 255
Sov 188

Apr-44 Ger 210
Sov 150

For example if the Axis holds 210 VP in April 44 he wins. If he only has 150 the Soviet wins. If the VP level is between 210 and 150 the game goes on.

These conditions are very harsh on the Germans. I will try as hard as I can to keep the game going.

I feel more optimistic for your chances.
I'm guessing you're about 240 in the above screens? Assuming you lose some VPs during blizzard a smash and grab for a 242 win in April 42 is probably out of the question. The 255 figure in April 43 though is interesting and, although it's tough, I believe is achievable for you.
The Soviet April 43 188 figure is presumably based on the Dnepr and then North to lake Ladoga. I can't believe that will trouble you. 150 in April 44 is the 41 start line plus 8 VPs. I think you should be o.k there too.
Also I would never play the 290 version. It can only be achieved against the AI or in the case of a total mismatch. 260 is nicely balanced.

Thanks for explaining this in detail. I had it all backwards. I thought I would automatically lose the game if I only have 241 VP by April 42. That seemed very harsh. I am much more relaxed now.

You are right regarding the VPs at the start of the blizzard (240).

No kidding. My entire planning is based on holding 242 by April 42. [:D] Someone at OKH didn't get the memo I guess. Well, I will try to use this screw-up to my advantage.

He has reached my fort line. Moscow is safe now because I already have almost level 2 forts. I attack as much as I can out of cities and forts.

Voroshilovgrad has a level 2 fort but it should already be gone. Not sure why he is not attacking the city. The unit in there is the best Romanian infantry division with 48 morale.

This is the first game in which I noticed that Romanians don't automatically lose morale during blizzard.

Many counterattacks with full support of the Luftwaffe. Support units have not been moved to OKH but I have reduced there TOE to 50%.

Some defensive and offensive successes at Moscow. Although the first attack out of Moscow fails much to my surprise.
