It could be worse. Try a size 0 port. [:o] But seriously, I agree this is quite a trap for the inexperienced or unwary, and I have been caught in many places in my game as Allies. Even some of the major cities in India have only a level 1 port.

I am still trying to figure out the best approach between Transport and Amphib. Can you Amphib unload at a 0-1 level point you took the turn before?

So much to figure out. Fun and frustrating at the same time.

Japan High Command has been pondering why the Allied forces are throwing themselves to their deaths. Our undercover agents just discovered this motivational film being played to inspire their self sacrifice.

I sort by "Ship ID" (far left column) in Ship Production screen. Why?? This is because "Naval Shipyard" will expend points first on the lowest numbers first (ships like BBs and CVs always get priority). Look under "Build Points" column to see if points are actually being used. You could be running out before they get to this DD.

That was the solution - I turned BB Yamato off and juggled a couple of other queue settings so I was producing about 12 more points than the 'required' number and next turn

I have been watching the plane production pool closely. For the main force models, like A6M2 or G3M2, when the pool gets over 50 I think about shutting production it down. For the other models, like recon or floats or such - when it gets over 30, I start thinking about shutting production down.

Any advice from the Wise Sages would be seriously considered.

I have increased Resource CS task forces. Oil is still a concern but until I get the DEI liberated, I will just have to monitor the situation.

Not too bad. I have been purposely pulling a lot of supply from Port Arthur and Fusan. A couple of large supply TFs pulled from Tokyo, but production, in the Home Islands at least, has kept it fairly close to opening levels:
