The Germans have a bastion at A Coruña. There is a lot of anti-supply force here, and plenty of Bf-109F to defend them. The very strong Kriegsmarine that Germany has built will impact our war making at the end of such long supply lines.

Battles across the Pacific, and supply and troop movement depend on sea control.

Congratulations to the Italians on their victory in the Mediterranean.
The Germans redeploy from France to Spain a massive undertaking some six Armies three of them Panzer it will be several months before they are operating at optimum.
The US carriers docked in Spain were paid a visit by the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine regrettably they are still afloat.

While the Italians and spanish are forced to withdraw from the US Armored onslaught, Italian Air Force bombers remind the American commanders that they can still deliver a punch to the nose of mechanized forces. It should be noted that Spanish ground crews worked tirelessly to keep the Italian Bomber Wing in the air and flying sorties against an overwhelmingly armored foe.

Sorry, guys - I am not slowing this down due to laziness - I am on a business trip out of the country and probably won't be able to send a turn before Nov 19th.
Thank you all for the great gaming experience.

Double message here.
"won't be able to send a turn before Nov 19th"
or
"Thank you all for the great gaming experience"
Going on the second Message I guess we are short of French and GB player, mildly annoying as I believe the originator of this game was Haudrauf1962. Do we find another player or end this game of GD1938, I hope Haudrauf1962 is aware we cannot continue this game without the password for the French and British.

I think he is ready to continue, but has to ask for a delay.
His expression of thanks is genuine I think, and does not mean he is quitting. Every indication is that he is having fun.
I hate waiting as much as anyone but RL can get in the way of a game.

hi. Let's wait he did not say he was quitting only unable to enter a turn until Nov 19th.
As a side note in August 2017 I will be going on a trip that will take me far away from computer access, (UGH) almost two weeks away from any computers. But I will be seeing an eclipse (weather permitting) and the Grand Tetons and going on a white water rafting trip. Cannot call it a vacation since I'm retired (permanent vacation).

Not a problem this will sit on the back burner until the 19th if that is the intent.
These are fun games but work better if the turns come round quicker.

To make it clear - thank you does not mean good bye in my understanding of English. I like the game, but real life issues sometimes don't allow timely returns. Sorry if that annoys anybody. If you want to speed up the game I could give my password to my US ally so that he can play the turns until I am back.

[:)] There is one thing more annoying than waiting for turns that's a USA/UK unified and coordinated command, enjoy the trip give us nasty Germans more time to plan dastardly strategies.

The USA has captured the Argentinian oil resource. This has been a long, and hard campaign.
In Europe the Axis brought veteran troops to bear. The Kriegsmarine has established a powerful enclave in the south of the Bay of Biscay. The heavy concentration of U-boats and surface forces is protected by its attached carriers and aircraft, as well as many Luftwaffe fighters. This makes it difficult to attack.
US and Portuguese/Brazilian forces are in combat with the Italians, and many German divisions also. Madrid has been taken, and armored forces are staging out of Gibraltar up the east coast of Spain. The USN is pulling together its Atlantic resources to contest control of the Bay.
In the Pacific the USN has tightened a cordon about Iwo Jima. Once longer ranged bombers and escorts are developed this will be an important base. The Japanese will surely defend Iwo Jima vigorously. It is already stuffed with aircraft.
Everything would be so much simpler if we did not have active warfare on two oceans..

June 1940
Lyon falls at last leaving a large pocket of French troops without supply the walls of the pocket held by several Germans Armies.
Spain the slaughter of the defenceless Italians in Southern Spain continues, the Italian lack of heavy equipment leaving the poor bloody Italian Infantry fighting heavy tanks with rifles. The Germans have arrived but are hampered by the shambles of roads clogged with abandoned Italian equipment and Broken Italian units.
To the North the Germans have pushed south to the outskirts of Porto the most northern Portuguese city.

The capture of Iwo Jima has been accomplished but the Japanese have significant naval assets in Hiroshima and they may sortie to attack the still fragile beachhead. The USN is building up, but the two ocean war prevents our dominance of the theater. There is some furious campaigning to go and nothing will happen here quickly.
The USA, Great Britain and France hope the Soviet Union quickly abandons the attack on the beleaguered British. The Soviet Union should be an important part of the campaign against the European Axis. The path to a Soviet victory (1/3 of VP + 1/3 from Allies) seems only possible by taking on the hard task of defeating German and Italy. Short term gains from attacking her natural allies are a false path for her. In raising these points we are fully aware that it is in the interest of the Allies to have the USSR swing, but that does not mean it is not in her interest to do so.

July 1940
France the pocket is squeezed tighter with some three French armies in the net.
Spain the Germans 7th Panzer Army and 1st SS Panzer Army pushed south and south west from Barcelona towards Valencia destroying some US Heavy Tanks, Porto was attacked from the air and shelled with German batteries in the Mountains to the North of the city.
Large numbers of British Submarines were destroyed to the North of the German Fleet in the Bay of Biscay the reason for the massing of so many submarines close to the German fleet is a mystery, they made no attacks that we were aware of and were. sitting ducks to the German naval patrol planes and bombers.
"The Soviet Union should be an important part of the campaign against the European Axis"
Why should the Soviet Union be a important part of the War against Germany and Italy. Germany and Italy have started no wars unlike the US and British who have. Why should the Soviet Union act as a puppet of the USA the aggressor on a quest to enslave western Europe, the USA should look to the defence of its homeland, there is a price to pay for global aggression and a thirst for world domination.

The USN has begun to "engage the enemy more closely" in the Bay of Biscay. The powerful Kreigsmarine fleet there has slowed the flow of supplies, reinforcements, and replacements to the Iberian front. The USN is joined by the Royal Navy, and by US Marine amphibious forces which have already begun some small scale landing operations.
In the Pacific the USN and Marines have begun the campaign to recover the Dutch East Indies from the Japanese. We do not think much oil has flowed from the DEI to Japan recently, but we have the assets to take all the DEI and prevent even a trickle from reaching the hungry ships and aircraft of Japan. The first landings were made at Brunei. Some of the Japanese garrisons here are impressive, but they share the disadvantage of being cut off.
