The 253rd Infantry Division finds itself in a quandry. It's already split into parts
but it needs to defend a larger perimeter yet. So I'm actually going to have to rail
some people in here to help out no kidding this time. Either that or pull back and
reposition in better defensive places. Come to think of it, it's going to take several
turns to get some more people into this area from the south so whatever happens the
253rd is going to have to pull back. Too much pushing before the back up arrives isn't
healthy.

Here's what's going on just north of Vyazma right now. I had an armor unit surrounded
and it fought it's way out of the noose and now I need to use the resting units nearby
to corral it and bring things under control again. This section of the front lines is
somewhat confusing and complex to my eyes. I'm not sure who dominates yet.

Here's the supply situation near Sevastopol right now. It sucks. I'm thinking of
combining all the RR engineers together on this route to see if it improves anything.

I've discovered a bad supply situation northeast of Leningrad in a heavily forested
hex that's not all that far from the road. I really expected some kind of supply
there but it's got zip, zero, nada. I'll have to reposition that bad boy next time
I get a chance.

Here's a quick peek at the losses. I'm doing fine on HRS's so far. This looks
like it's doable.

Here's what the expected reinforcements dialog says about the immediate future. Nothing
I can use to fight the war is coming in T31. Even if I owned those hexes and got that
stuff the war wouldn't materially change much.

I managed to drop one of the last couple of river crossing bridges leading to
Leningrad. Now there's only a couple of places to cross the river and it's got
a rail through it so I need to drop it too. I'm hoping that will turn off the supply
to Leningrad but I think there's another city I need to capture to do that.

Some of the forest hexes in this area are also "badlands" which severely restricts supply going into them.

Yes, I found that out. There were places that I thought I should be able to move into and
discovered Badlands hexes.

I find myself in the middle of a fierce battle for Kharkov right now. I've got more
troops headed that way....maybe they will arrive and make enough difference to grab
the city just before the mud season.

In the south I'm advancing along the roads and rails pressing to the east and I'm
sneaking up on Stalino which is one of my immediate goals for this area. I'm running
into severe supply problems and most of the, well, a lot of the units are strung out
along the roads and rails trying to suck the supply out of the hex for all it's worth.
Good thing this is almost mud season....that will allow the rails to get closer to the
front lines.

In the south near D-town and Z-town the Axis minor allies have been working out well
lately. I've got them set on three-dots right now and they have started holding their
own on the front lines more than they were. And right now they are indespinsable in
helping form front lines and exploiting oppertunities and for general recon. Converting
hexes, roads, and rails.

I've checked the aircraft losses just now prior to my getting serious about using
the Stuka's in direct attacks again, ( Yes ) and I noticed that I'm down to my last
eleven Avia B-534 planes and I need to find that formation and move it to the home
country for the last defense or something. I would use "training" for the option
if I had that option. As it is they will just rest out most of the war in their
home country. If I was playing against a human player and he got ahold of this
intell might want to target my last B-534 squadron just to get rid of it from the
game. That way I could use it as bait. Yeah, that's the ticket. It would be
really handy if there were some way to get a list of the formations that have that
equipment in their inventory. As it is I'll have to search for them.

I found the Avia B-534's, all eleven of them in the Slovak aircraft unit. I checked
out the equipment panel for that plane and it said it was a Checkoslvakia origin and
I immediately thought of the Slovak unit. Sure enough it was that unit that had them.
But they aren't in a unit by themselves as I had hoped. It's got a fairly sizeaable
squadron of Me-109's in the unit as well and I really need them to stay on the job
so I've decided to include the Avia's in whatever attacks the Me's do and that part
of the unit will just slowly melt away to nothing by the end of the war I predict.

Just to make it more interesting I think I'll adopt Steve Sill's color rule which,
paraphrasing, says that red units don't move or attack, yellow ones can move but
not attack, and green ones can move and attack. Much more micromanagement for me
but a more interesting game maybe.

Take the hex just north of Kharkov city hex (red balloon). There is a major supply dump. You need to take it before mud.

Thanks very much for the heads up. I'll see what I can do to grab that bad boy. It
would be a major boost for the advance to have that hex. The problem is that it's already
T31 and the units to grab the red balloon are out of position at the moment and I'm not
sure they have enough MP's to do the job. It's iffy.
