Breaking that pocket could prove costly. Looks like he could potentially pocket another chunk of units that were units to break it.

Agreed, but I decided to make this sector of the Eastern Front a major focus for the Soviet Army, with the majority of reserves going to this sector. The intent is to delay the Axis advance as much as possible, at the risk of larger pockets.
