Russian Navy Udaloy I-class ASW Destroyer Marshal Shaposhnikov to Receive Kalibr Missiles
The 'Marshal Shaposhnikov' Project 1155 large anti-submarine warfare (ASW) ship being upgraded at JSC Dalzavod Ship Repairing Center will get the ability to use Kalibr cruise, anti-ship and anti-submarine guided missiles, the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST) writes in its official blog quoting the Dalzavod`s acquisition plan for 2017 published online.

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) announced the successful completion of acceptance sea trials for the amphibious transport dock Portland (LPD 27). The San Antonio-class ship built at HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division, spent last week with the U.S. Navy’s Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV), performing more than 200 trial events that included both in-port and underway portions.

Indian Navy Commissions 2nd GRSE-built Mk IV Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Vessel
Dr. Jagdish Mukhi, Lieutenant Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, commissioned IN LCU L52 into the Indian Navy on August 21st at Port Blair. IN LCU L52 is the second Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Mk-IV class to be inducted into the Indian Navy. The ship has been indigenously designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, Kolkata. The commissioning of L-52 is yet another manifestation of the potential of the country’s indigenous design and ship building capability.

So something like a MAD, but for submarines and even more effective than sonars? The range is still a lackluster though (6km).

Seems like something you'd mount in a fixed array. I'd imagine any sensors they placed in international waters would soon have a large deposit of iron placed nearby by USN 'survey' vessels...

The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN or Tentera Laut DiRaja Malaysia; TLDM) launched and named today its first Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Gowind frigate. The ceremony took place at Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad (BHIC) Lumut shipyard (Western Malaysia) on August 24th. The first of class vessel is now known as KD Maharaja Lela.

Krylov Center presents concept corvette Briz at Army-2017
The focus in the development of the advanced corvette Briz (Breeze) was placed on the optimization of the corvette’s seaworthiness, including through various ship stabilization means. As a result of the Krylov Center’s efforts, the corvette, with a very moderate displacement, carries extremely powerful weapons for this type of ships consisting of 24 universal vertical launchers for surface-to-surface missiles, as well as 16 vertical launchers for longer-range surface-to-air missiles (SAM) and 32 - for short-range SAMs, the Zvezda TV channel reported.

A collaborated team of scientists from Beijing, Hong Kong and Taiwan in Hong Kong University (HKU) has developed the >2.0 GPa Super-steel with both supreme yield strength and uniform elongation, while it's also affordable to produce with current tech level of steel mills. Many journalists conscripted the McCain collision accident is caused by a cyber-attack from a trailing Chinese merchant ship nearby. Contacted by Navy Recognition, BAE Systems (United Kingdom), Naval Group (France), Fincantieri (Italy) and Navantia (Spain) acknowledged looking at the RFI.
