Morricone synosis; way of life..the book has not yet arrive only small italian scripts,

Reading a superb fantasy novel. Fantasy genre hasn't interested me at all for years after seemingly another novel like,all the others, yawn.

However nearly finished a book that's been a breath of fresh air and I've loved from the start. Honestly I can't recommend it enough.One of the best fantasy books I've read.

The half orcs finally get some love.

Watership down in English. it is one of my favourite books, but I never had the opportunity to read it in its original language.

As an aside: what a book! Many people tell how the animated movie shook them, but the book is much more violent (yup) and the action scenes incredible. To me, is the only book that matches The Lord of The Rings - and if you don't believe me buy it on Kindle (about £5) and enjoy the first horror scene "a la" The Shining around page 7.

The Constitutional Reader from Hillsdale College. I'm taking their Constitution course 101 for nothing. I figure you can, in any case, join if intrigued. It's a similar course their understudies are required to take their first semester.

Well that was an excellently written, captivating - though ultimately tragic - and enjoyable read.

Keeping with the football theme its on to Glory Glory My Life with Spurs by their late, great, former manager Bill Nicholson.

Memoirs of Sergeant Burgougne: 1812-1813. Should have read this in July and I wouldn't have needed air conditioning

A Game of Thrones book Box Set, and really enjoyed the first 2, on the 3rd one now, as only went away for a week, so didn't manage to finish them all, much much better than the TV series by a long long way imo, as are almost all books i've read

Sir, you are reading "Song of ice and fire" not "game of thrones" you are in the elite that read the books and dont are happy with the half cooked serie for "weak minds" then call the serie for his name and not the first book title

As suggestion if i where you i try read book 4-5 together following the chronological order, if you dont know it book 4-5 are a single book that was simple to big and RR cut it in 2 different books separate them by west-east.

Is not like read 4th and 5th books is bad, i do it when i read first the serie BUT in the next 2 re-reads i use the "a feast with dragons" version that is the 4-5 together, the "problem" is that the 4th book is very diferent to the other 4 books, is slower and darker and with a big focus in the war destruction in Westeros and how the blonde bitch lose his mind [8|], you need have this in mind because is a total different experience specially after read "Storm of swors" and many guys think is the worst of the 5 books when true is that simple is the first book ater the big blow up that is the 3rd book (1st 2nd book are the prepration to he amazing 3rd and 4th+5th and 6th are the preparation to the last title 7th in the serie that i wait be like 3rd book).

I've spent much of the year reading non-military books, including Brave New World - Inside Pochettino's Spurs. An enjoyable read - although I do wonder about the wisdom of writing such a book while still managing the team/players he's written about.....

Making Sense of the Troubles (McKittrick and McVea). I tried starting this before but didn't get very far as the call of WWII was too strong. But I am making use of my self-imposed WWII exile to try and get this finished this time. No doubt this will be a difficult read but its supposed to be fair and so I'm hoping that proves to be the case.

But I am making use of my self-imposed WWII exile to try and get this finished this time. No doubt this will be a difficult read but its supposed to be fair and so I'm hoping that proves to be the case.

Finished this off pretty quickly. An excellent overview of the Troubles, a finely balanced book and thoroughly recommended reading for anyone interested in getting a better understanding of this sad, frustrating and tense time in British/Irish history.
