Good morning all. Missed yesterday. Alternator went dead in my SUV. $556.00 later all is well.

Had a similar expeience today. Handed my car in for the yearly $250 service and planned to pick up the car later in the day.

... and the workshop called two hours later. Apparantely, there's a need to change the brake pads all around and the front stabilizer bars. What was worse is that they found out that the front tires were *very* unevenly worn and they wanted to change them as well. I was a little surprised to say the least, as the tires were bought last summer and have passed just over 3000 miles. They should be in (almost) pristine condition. This means that the workshop also have to take a look at the front axle geometry.

All in all, the bill looks to land somewhere around $1300 and I couldn't pick up the car until tomorrow. [:(]
