Now that I dug out my old account to these forums, allow me to mirrow the poster above me: thanks! I really love this game. I've been working on a Sealion scenario for the past 1-2 months, which I'll try to finish asap.

the map is done, and that was frankly the hardest. Gamebalancing and force allocation is a joy compared to map making, hehe.

Archy,
Can you please advise what occured just before the CTD. Do you have a saved game, preferably just before it?

I can probably reproduce it i need to get to bed now though cause i just played a 7 day scenario with 50% str (damn my cpu) and wow what a drive, decisive victory but i had lots of casualtys, a bit less than him, forgot to take AAR picture but heres one from the end.
I'm learning the scenarios so i realised i would need the extra schedule on this one, that was much apreciated (the para's). Here you can see the 7th day i lay counter attack and a pocket , sorry i should do AAR's but i'm learning the new scenarios and playing the ones i havent played.
I had great fun on this one, it's a scenario where you need to delay a lot at beginning so you can reach for the 3 days of reinforcement. This scenario made me think about things that would be cool , i played it real fast probably , it's modified at 50% str cause that scenario is too slow for my cpu (old amd 3500+ 64 bit) so i played a bit with it so i could try it and it was real fun thanks for these new scenarios.
I dont know if this scenario was new or old but it was a blast couldnt reach the ennemy base. Decisive victory i think around 6k casualtys for him and 5k for me. I know that i could have played it slower with more micro management could have helped , but theres some moments where you gave your orders and you need not to touch those nice buttons for a while

.
Heres a nice pic with my nice paint arrows showing what was seriously going on. I'll try that V3 scenario again tonight and try to save the game early . Later

question real fast, how hard is it to add a system like the supply system (or maybe combined with it) that would act like a REPLACEMENT pool , or maybe include it ? By the way some funny stuff happened like a stuck arty that would luckily still in range , it would just not move i tried for a few days hehe but still won , he was in rough terrain and very few paths, i set him in defense and it worked so i never touched him again but he got stuck there because of a supply unit , that i moved and it cleared the way for units that was there, except that arty. I also wonder how hard would it be to have pop-ups when mouse is simply hovering over all the buttons and sections as reminders, short descriptions etc. Also is it possible to drag and drop some units in the OB section ? It would be nice if there was something around icon showing what direction it's going/firing without selecting to see pathing.
Also i have a final question , it seems like the units when selected get calculated/act quicker ? I feel there are many ways to play this game, i try to adapt and mix both micro and macro depending on the actual situation , maybe when you use higher hq's a lot it acts this way ? thanks for the good times this game is really something with potential, i wish there was an online version (p2p) where you could log in and join the front with adapted system maybe, i would love this engine to have a sci-fi title with more features as well, lots of great replayability with the current random reinforcement spawns as well.

Quick Q
Do I need to install patch 3 over an installation already patched with patch 2
or
can I just go from the "vanilla" version which I downloaded when the game was first released to patch 3?
The reason why I ask is that the Transsexual Pool Party 3 takes a hellofalotof hard disk space and don't have room for patch 2 (see post 283). There is also another minor issue with the fact that I am currently using linux and want to install the game again [:)]
Cheers,
Michele

The COTA Patch 3 is a "comprehensive" patch. So you can install it over any prior version ( ie vanilla, patch 1 or patch 2 ). It will work out what is needed. So don't worry. just go for it.

Thanks Arjuna.
Now all I need is a fix for the minimap in the top left corner which appears as a black square with some green and red dots in my linux box.

In the Clash of Armour scenario the 7th Hussars regimental HQ is represented by a brigade HQ. How do you change it to a regimental HQ?
