Rumors in San Fransisco has it that soon the carrier Wasp will be made available for use in the Pacific. Some claims that CiCPac HQ allready has given her orders to seek out the enemy, while others claim that she has been ordered to remain at the West Coast untill the Hornet is repaired.
Can the arrival of a single ship turn events around?

All is quiet in the Pacific. What the governments do not want the people to see is the current map of the Pacific.

Nothing happens in the Pacific, but the Allies knows that the Japanese are up to something, but what? And where?

In San Fransisco people are realising how badly the war is going, and every day people arrive at the docks to look at the three ships that are the only means of striking at the enemy. The CVs Wasp and Hornet and the CVE Long Island. The Wasp and the Long Island both lay at anchor, and people can see the crew carrying out various tasks, the Hornet on the other hand is in drydocks, and it is clear to all that she will remain there for quite some time.
Rumor also has it that the navy has started to produce a new dive bomber that will be equipped on these ships, a dive bomber capable of carrying a 1000lb bomb. Surely that must put a dent in any Japanese ship!

Yea, I have to consider simply giving up everything north of the line Brisbane-Melbourne [X(]

It also seems that China is soon reduced to two cities, and even NZ is in jeopardy per now. But as I have learned the hard way, there is no move I can make without aircover, and for that I need those 2US CVs, 1 Brit Cv and 1 US CVE. Then I need to find a suitable comeback point. Atm both the Hawaiian Islands, The Aleutians and Christmas Island is out of the question, so that really narrows it down.
But apart from opening a second front, there is not much I can do to aid the situation in Aus/NZ [:(]

The repairs on the Hornet goes by painfully slow. It is clear that this lady will nto be heading out very soon.

The fighting all over the Pacific has slowed down, all that takes place is a few japanese airstrikes on isolated Allied troops. However the patrol aircrafts at Port Moresby reports a naval force heading down towards the port from the NE. All available aircrafts have been ordered to strike.

Although the day is clebrated in the US, there is a somber tone to the celebrations, everyone is well aware of the dire situation not just the US, but all the free world is in.

The war seems almost over to the people living in the Pacific. Apart from the daily Japanese air attacks on Pearl Harbour nothing happens anywere. At CiCPac HQ they realize that every day they do nothing is another day for the Japanese to improve their defensive perimeter, but at the moment it cannot be helped. The allies needs time, alot of time to be able to launch any operations in the Pacific.
