The China theater at the end of the allied impulse in July/ August 42

The Japanese have enough troops to not worry about their at present out of supply positions in central China and they can afford to wait for the weather clearing again. The Pacific perimeter is fully manned by other Japanese troops and the USA will need another couple of turns to be able to project much of a threatening power against the Japanese holdings. The only present problem is the US SUBs, some now based in India.

Axis impulse 2 July/August 42 ( impulse # 4 ) still strom in North Monsoon, rest fine.

All take land action

Air fight over Rostov, Russian large bomber shot down.

Several attacks in Russia, German units now next to Moscow from the southeast and West. German have crossed the Don river east of Voronesh.

Rostov fell after being attacked with ground support, HQ support and a Para drop.

Germany still has both it's Offensive chits unused.

Western Allies just move a few ships and land units

Russia rails Saratov Factory to Stalinsk

Russian units have begun wholesale runs eastwards and to the Caucasus, they hope fora short turn and a wet September/October.

Axis impulse 3 July/August 42 ( impulse # 6 ) Fine except storm in North Monsoon

Axis Ground strikes over Moscow and NW Moscow all succeed this time.

Moscow falls with 3 Russian units and The lower Don river east of Rostov is broken through knocking out 2 more Russian units.

Japan lands reinforcements in South coast of China aiming for a quick clearing operation.

Allies impulse 4 July/August 42 ( impulse 3 7 ) Rain North Monsoon.

US SUBs in Bismarck suffer air attack, 1 SUB damaged and aborted. another aborted.
CW stratbombs Lille for 1 pp

US Marine divisions invade and take Majuro and Eniwetok. A NAV rebased to Eniwetok.
Russians continue fast retreat eastwards and to the Caucasus. Most of their Armor and Mech have survived.

Turn ends on a 1 Roll 2 almost ended.

Axis impulse 4 July/August 42 Rain in N Monsoon, rest fine.

Germany has outrun it's air force and attacking Penza and Stalingrad suffer weakening by Russian bomber support there, there are no German planes in the vicinity.

Stalingrad now at a +9 attack but rolls 12 for 21. Stalingrad falls, 4 German units are disorganized.

Penza is now at + 8 attack and the roll is 20 for max force. Penza falls.

All pass for 50 %end of turn chance.

Roll is a 1 turn ends. Partisan in Yugoslavia

Here is the Russian situation at the end of the turn. In China nothing changed due to stormy weather

The massive German lines are not so massive looking now that they are spread out on a very long front and the air force is well behind the front lines. It is getting more difficult to get new German units to the front, it is a lon walk.

Italy aligns Iraq Italy clean out Red Sea sinking a CW convoy and damaging a cruiser

German ground strikes on Yaroslavl, Saratov, and Stavropol mostly fail, only one unit disorganized

Japan takes Nanning clearing a rail line in the south of China but at a cost of 2 Inf lost.
Japan attack on Chungking falis, one Japanese Mil lost.

Germany takes Yaroslavl and Krasnodar at a cost of a Mil lost.

Axis impulse 2 Sep/Oct 42 ( impulse # 3 ) Fantastic weather, all fine again...

Germany attacks and takes Vologda, Stavropol and Saratov. Germany lost a Div and 6 units and a HQ disorganized at Saratov.

Now all remaining Russian troops are in Siberia and the Caucasus.

Japan holding it's Pacific perimeter although not very strongly. The US presence is so far not overwhelming.
