Its raining in France. That's -1 on the combat, but the Germans are impatient to end the war in the west...
The Luftwaffe pile in with 3 Stukas. The French respond with their only fighter that can reach - the MS406, and the Germans counter with two Me-109.
The Luftwaffe has a 2.5 advantage over the French air force...
Round 1
5 (AA) The French abort the German front fighter
15 (DX) The MS406 is destroyed (pilot survived) bringing the air battle to a swift conclusion.

So its the big one Part Deux.
Billotte attempts HQ Support, von Bock does the same. Billotte fails, but von Bock works, meaning odds of 5:1 no modifier on the Assault table.
Its a 2!! Nightmare for the Germans who are all disorganised. There is one loss each.

See post 253. I think a May/June 1941 Barbarossa is going to be difficult. The plan therefore is to build for this (whenever it is) but to also reinforce the Regia Aeronautica with a beefed up Fliegerkorps X as soon as possible.

Yes. There were reports of Stuka pilots parking their Ju-87's along the Champs Elysee and visiting the exotic lovelies of the Folies Bergeres when they should have been bombing the $%^& out of the enemy [:-]

I must say I have really enjoyed this second AAR - more so than the first for two reasons a) because of the extra knowledge I have gained in playing the first (the performance in Japan has made that theatre a more enjoyable experience, and b) I have to say playing without oil (given the current production problems) is sensible.
The only thing this current game lacks is serious naval activity, but I suspect Benito will not be sitting idly by for too much longer [;)]
Benito might have to rely on his own homegrown aircraft. Poor Germans will still be rebuilding and training the Luftwaffe.
warspite1
Good point! As soon as the French are despatched, I will need to set about building a serious Fliegerkorps X. The Italians will only b***** things up if left to their own devices [8|]
I am sure the Italians will need plenty of assistance if they are going to manage to do something properly. But why should Germany help them out? The Italians still are to afraid to even go to war and yet they expect German aid when they mess things up?
Germany needs to decide their goals for the war and make plans accordingly.

Going to war without Italy is like going deer hunting without your accordion.
Actually said about the French, but still very funny.

What have I done/not done now General Orm?
Finland had got Stalin to agree with a peace where Finland ceded the Borderlands to USSR. But the Finns decided, proudly, to continue the war versus USSR since they apparently plan to create their own Finnish empire. I suspect that Mannerheim will offer his resignation any day now.
----
Once the war with Finland - USSR has begun, and The Soviet union fail to force a continuance (is that even a word?) of the war, I have yet to see a game where it is to the Axis advantage to deny the peace and it is Germany who gets to decide if there is going to be peace or not.
If Germany force USSR to go to war with Finland then Germany wants the peace. That is the goal for Germany when they deny the claim. To force peace. The Soviet Union want the war to continue so they can conquer Finland.

Yes. That might indeed be true. But they are at war without Italy!
Edit: I do not mind that you plan to help out Italy. But you must decide what the German plans are for next summer.

Doesn't it hurt the Soviets to try and bash the Finns? Surely that's a good thing for Germany no?
