The Allied navies went on a rampage over night, hitting every base on Formosa and Hong Kong, with good results. This seemed to quell any strikes against the fleets near Swatow, and 250+ planes were destroyed no the ground for the day. Some of those were left at Swatow when it was taken on the first attack in spite of level four forts.
Samah, Medan, and Liuchow were also taken with big losses for the IJA.
