One very annoying thing in WitP:AE is that in China your units often lack supply in base but have plenty outside. See the picture.
Thus my decision to withdraw from Loyang. I'll later try to encircle and get the base that way when my troops are rested, reinforced and have taken lot of replacements.

To expand on Sardaukar's point.
LCUs inside a base get their supply from that base's supply depot. LCUs out in the country side can get their supply from any eligible base with a sufficient supply surplus after resupplying its own housed units.

Future plans:
- Operations Hammer & Anvil will invade Tarawa and Mili in Central Pacific. Operations will be supported by CVs: Essex, Yorktown II, Lexington, Saratoga, 2 CVLs and few CVEs.
- Operation Cartwheel will invade Umboi I., Manus and Kavieng, isolating Rabaul. Advance along PNG coast will also commence. It will be helped with extra divisions arrived in Sydney from West Coast. Operations will be supported by CVs: Enterprise, Yorktown, Hornet and Wasp.
- Operation Valkyrie will continue to advance towards both Saigon and Singapore. Kamikazes from 1-1-1944 be damned.
I cannot count for much of naval gun support, since all R-class BBs are withdrawing to Europe and won't return.

One annoyance is "upgrade" of Wellington Ic to Wellington B.X.
In this "upgrade" one loses both range and load...without gaining anything...

Recent arrival of Beaufighter TX-torpedo bombers to Port Blair has made IJN incursions towards Andaman Sea and Rangoon very dangerous. Recent IJN losses there include 1 BB and 1 CA (plus 1 BB possible).
Victorious Southeast Asia Command and 14th Army under Lord Mountbatten and Bill Slim continue to advance. Planned advance of Operation Valkyrie shown on map.

Flash news!
CV USS Enterprise is hit by 3 torpedoes, fortunately close to Brisbane. Apparently IJN I-165 did not survive.
CV Enterprise is damaged as follows: 67 sys, 61 flt (36 major), 22 eng (9 major), 16 fires.
This will keep CV out of action probably couple of months at least, that is when fires are down and flotation too, so she can be moved to Sydney drydock.

CV Enterprise will be inside drydock in Sydney for 229 days...so that is that for 1943...
3 of my submarines have gotten hammered around Hokkaido straits within a week (none sunk). I am pretty sure I have seen this movie...and I think that IJN destroyer captain is even in game. [:'(][8D]
Commonwealth units are splitting in Bangkok. Brits and Australians are going towards Singapore, Chinese and Indians are going to Saigon. I am sure Vietminh will welcome their Asian brothers with open arms... [:'(]

Yes, but if you look at the Momo class destroyer it is not as good as other destroyers for ASW work.

Op Valkyrie in action:
After few very decisive encirclement battles near Rangoon and Bangkok, AI is very short of units to defend Malaya and Indochina.

Plan is to take all south Indochina up to Hue and Malaya. Then operating air and naval units from Singapore, Saigon and Cam Ranh Bay.
After a stop at PH, CV Bunker Hill will be directed to Sydney, to replace stricken CV Enterprise.
As Allies, Supreme Allied Commander Pacific (SACPAC) actually already has way more troops, planes and ships that he can find reasonable use.
As a side note, WitP and WitP-AE really fired up my interest in Pacific War...Amazon made fortune with me buying books of topic. [8D]

When your subs start to refit in wrong base...when already damaged...
Logistic clusterf*ck, screaming from PH can be heard in Midway I....maintenance officers beheaded, sub commanders sent to do naval survey in Nepal...etc.

I seriously doubt that Midway will be bombed during this time. When the refits are done, a lot if not all of the minor damage should be finished.
An important lesson learned at a low cost. At least they are not aircraft carriers in a front line port.

As per RangerJoe said...doubt IJN would come calling. If they do, I have this CV/CVL force gathered in PH.
Reason Lex and Sara came back from SWPAC is that they cannot fit into Sydney drydock. Their tonnage is over 30k limit. Something for people to think, they are more suitable for operating neared bigger drydocks.

Note how Sawfish with 24 points of System damage is only going to take 9 days to repair that but Tambor with 22 points is going to take 26 days tied to the Repair Ship. It is best to use the port repair points to fix all System damage first - it is much better at it - and only then assign ship to an AR to fix the Flotation and Engineering damage. It is not too late to remove Tambor from the AR and assign Pogy instead.
