Hi Terry,
I missed this thread when it first did the rounds.
Good to see you got to do one of your dream trips.
If you only got to squeeze in a couple of dives at Guadalcanal, the two you did are amongst the best (even if they are considered "shallow"[:'(]).

Shallow dives are the best ones. You have much more timen and you don't need a lamp to see something.

I have been to several battlefields here in the United States, and there is something about seeing a serene peaceful battlefield...and then seeing and reading those memorials erected on the sites, that gets to me...
Had one of those moments standing in the clump of trees looking across the endless fields that the Confederates charged across on the 3rd day of Gettysburg. It was humbling and disturbing at the same time.

Shallow (maintained comes to mind) muff diving is preferable. Man, did this go south,,,hahaaa! Another play on words.[:D]
