well thats good news at least. So was there an official announcement or do you just "know" that the end is near?
There will be one later today according to my boss, who accidentally let it slip. I've seen it coming for a while and have been doing some work on the matter. But....in this economy, only the Good Lord can guarantee a job.

I'm hoping someday when i grow up they'll yet me play with the servers.
That's pretty much what I've done all my career. Much more UNIX flavors than Windows ones.
There should always be a place for IT man with experience with UNIX...
BTW, did you "play" with LINUX as well (many smaller companies rely on LINUX for servers)?
I have 5 servers in my company (I am the one and only IT) - 2 are LINUX and 3 are Windows...

Sure. We ran Red Hat Linux servers for our Domino email. Ran Linux on my home box for a while too. I also designed and maintained custom OpenBSD and then FreeBSD email spam filters.
I like the BSDs a lot for server work.

Got pinged already from a company on monster. I really hope to be able to join the software company we used to use at work. Already know their product and their people, so it would be a good fit. Plus, could probably work from home. Wish me luck.
