The FFG(X) is to include the an/slq-61 light weight towed.

Is this a torpedo warning sonar? I can’t find this in the DB- is there another name for this in the DB?

And what is the an/sqs-62? Is it the same as CAPTAS VDS?

ANKARA, Turkey —Turkey’s defense procurement agency has officially launched a competition to combine all information systems on the country’s planned F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation multirole fighter jets to the Turkish Air Forces’ system network.

The Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM in its Turkish acronym) dubs the program F-35/Air Force Information System Integration Project.

Under the program, the successful contender will connect the information systems installed on the F-35 fighter aircraft with the Air Forces’ information systems network, otherwise known as HvBS.

That's great and all, until you remember that the Turks also are hooked into the Russian defense ministry (as evidence with the sale of the S-400). Are Lockheed's export "DLC locks" on the F-35 going to be strong enough when Russian engineers will undoubtedly have full access to it?

Japan is examining how to evacuate its citizens from South Korea in the event of a crisis that closes airports. Japanese and U.S. military vessels would take Japanese and U.S. citizens from the port of Busan to Japan’s Tsushima island, roughly 30 miles away, before ferrying them to the southernmost main island of Kyushu a day or so later.

"Moscow’s deployment on Saturday added a second division of S-400 surface-to-air missiles in Crimea, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014, triggering economic sanctions by the European Union and United States.

It deployed its first division of S-400s in the spring of 2017 near the port town of Fedosia. The new division will be based next to the town of Sevastopol and will control the airspace over the border with Ukraine, the RIA news agency reported."

Rumors indicate that the Divine Eagle will soon be inducted in PLAAF service, following the Soar Dragon that was introduced somewhere between 2014 to 2016.

The Chinese government on Saturday accused the U.S. of trespassing in its territorial waters when a U.S. guided missile destroyer sailed near a disputed shoal in the South China Sea. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said China would take “necessary measures” to protect its sovereignty after the USS Hopper sailed within 12 nautical miles of Scarborough Shoal on Wednesday evening.
