Armor and infantry at Clark. The locals are doing the line infantry work. Filipino units up to mid 50's to 60 on experience.

With all the wear and tear borne by the Filipinos, surely you must be running low on replacement PA squads by now. What are your reserves looking like?

All the 1941 Philippine Army and Scouts rifle and engineering squads are at zero.

'43 squads just starting to appear but tiny numbers.

Heavy weapons are good.

Maybe the Heavy Weapons should upgrade to US standards in 1943 so they don't run out.

So what does the VP situation look like?

We are still way behind on VP's. Twice as many ships sunk...though many are small craft.

Pretend I did not read how ground replacement works. Does one simply press the "allow upgrade" button in a rear area to allow a US Army unit to upgrade to '43 squads?

By ra way, it seems there is a separate pool for US Army units in the PI...true?

I think to upgrade you have to be in rest/training. I haven't read the manual in awhile

Allow Upgrade plus be in a friendly base.

To upgrade the TOE must be in Rest mode, Allow Upgrade, be in a friendly base, command HQ within (I think it is) twice it's distance thingy.

The base the unit is present at has to have adequate supply too.

And then there's the matter of devices in the pools...

Combat squads upgrade by sending the current squads to the pool and drawing squads that have the weapons abstracted in the upgraded squads' values for anti-armor and anti-soft -i.e. they go to the pools with rifles and maybe one BAR per squad, and they come out with some rifles but more Thompson SMGs, grease guns, bazookas and rifle grenades. The men are still the same. Once you start the first sets of squads upgrading the process runs quickly with replacements happening every turn (if conditions are right).

Oh, I get it. This is sort of like planning.

Special case. US 31st IR trapped on Luzon seems to draw PI US Rifle squads (which makes sense because of the isolation) but these are only available until 12-42 and the pool is empty..

Can 31st IR now draw '43 US Army squads as replacements or are they SOL?

Also 4th USMC Regt on Luzon...can they draw '43 USMC squads?

Is there a supply cost to do that? There is a unit remnant defending Batan Is but the main unit is still at Bataan (the peninsula).

And what about the armor on Luzon. Can we buy some Shermans or M5 Stuarts? The Sherman gun would probably go through two or three Ronsons at a time.

Ditto the TD Bn's on Luzon. Can they draw '43 Recce squads and M8's?
