It seems your research settings are the settings from game start?
R&D isn't that complicated. You don't need it, because you will get the planes at the historical dates. But you can speed it up. [:)] The forums advices to use plants of size 30 because this is the optimum between size and repair speed. The plants will repair very slow but this repairs costs no supply. The closer the planes arrival date comes the repair will become "faster". They start researching only after being fully repaired. All 100 "researched" planes the arrival date is shifted 1 month forward.

My research settings:
early war IJN fighter: A6M3 path. Maybe you don't want the A6M3 because range is to short and not CV capable, but you can upgrade your research plants to A6m3a and further A6M planes.
late war IJN fighter: N1K1-J George
early war IJA fighter: KI-44 IIa Tojo
late war IJA fighter: KI-84a Frank

I research all this fighters with 7 plants (overall size 210) for every fighter. Other planes worth researching are KI-43IIa Oscar, Jill, Judy, G4M2 Betty, Helen, ...
Unfortunately I don't know how much research is too much research. [:)]

According to Tracker you are losing -1840 resources/day. You have 7 million in the Empire.
7m /1840 = 3804 turns of resources available ... There is no problem - just keep hauling Resources back to Honshu. Looking at your figures you need to accelerate that somewhat ..

So um.....according to your figures I have enough resources to last the war 3804 turns is like 10 years or something. If the current pace of action is used as a guide I don't need to haul any more resources for the rest of the war? Cool. But I'm in the habit now and if enough is good too much is better.

No - you don't need more on map resources. But you do need to haul those at an accelerated rate from the Empire to Honshu.

TF 581 has the 38th Div / B onboard and it's within 7 or 8 days steaming of Palembang.

There is hardly any troops at Palembang, even one regiment is enough to take the base. You do have a good detection level, right?

If detection lvl is 9/10 lucky you.
If 1/10 there can be much powerful combat force there.

Man...move in and grab Palembang ASAP! Looks pretty good right now.

So now I have a sub I have to sail all the way back to Japan to fix. How inconvient.

These reinforcing runs in and out are getting expensive

Finally, I get a hit or two. Third time is the charm.

The sweeping is continuing. I'm not getting really good odds. I wonder why. Are they too fatigued or something?

Still beating up on Kuantan. I'm going to invade shortly ( a week or less ) maybe I should take it easy on the airfield. Less repair later.

Rob is still trying to kill me with his Catalina's. So far no hits. Time will tell.

This is only the first of a half a dozen attacks on the CVL........all no hits. So far so good.

I'm going to hang around and see if I can't get a hit on one of those AK's.

The next ground assaul(s) on Clark Field will be less costly. I've got my fingers crossed.

I'll wear him down eventually. It's just a matter of time now.
