A day of no A2A action at all. 4E bombed PM, Prome and Toungoo.

I hope tomorrow will be different as 40 x Nick's are flying CAP over PM.

The cat and mouse game continues in Burma. With Tang Gyi now reaching a level 3 AF and having 4 x Tai-Chi 7 radar sets active I've flown in 37 x George 1. These will fly CAP to see if Dad's still flying in supply via transports. I forgot to mention it in my summary post above, but I have to be wary of P47D2 now. Dad has a FG at least of these flying in Burma and they are certainly equal to my George's.

With Meiktila also repaired I have moved in 41 x Tojo IIa and 29 x George to provide CAP here against a Death Star raid.

The below screenshot also shows the situation on the ground of the surrounded Allies at Taung Gyi with 2nd Tank Division blocking the path to the east.

4E targeted PM again today and were met by Nick's flying from Buna. They do fairly well and report shooting down 8 x B24 for the loss of 5 friendlies.

They'll rest tomorrow and George's from Lae will fly CAP.

An LBA raid from Rabaul keeps Terapo's AF's closed. I lost an Oscar for a Kittyhawk.

Burma:

I love my George's as, over Taung Gyi, they intercept the Death Star and a sweep of Thuds and Hurri IIc's. Air losses are summarised on the attachment below. Happy with that. This Ku have flown out to rest at Rangoon and a further one has flown in. Tojo's at Meiktila are instructed to fly CAP over Magwe as I suspect an attack here next turn too. Interestingly no enemy transports were intercepted flying support to the surrounded Allies at Taung Gyi.

R&D Facs bring forward Tojo IIc's to 09/43. When they start producing next month I'll convert the 60 x Tojo IIa to them as well giving me a production of 180 per month.

As part of my on-going engine production expansion I increased the following this turn:

HA-35 + 100 (new monthly production will be 381 with a total need of 517 per month (once all planned plane productions begin)).
Ha-45 + 100 (new monthly production will be 385 with a total need of 667 per month (once all planned plane productions begin)).

Could you post a sweep by those Jugs against your Georges. I'd ove to see what's giving you success here. I've been doing okay but with Joseph taking over in my game I'll have to also rethink my approach, so want to consider everything again.

My CAP traps work very well as Dad (unfortunately) has been predictable in his air attacks today. 4E hit PM again and the Death Star targets Taung Gyi with a smaller raid hitting Magwe. I had CAP planned for all of these bases.

For once I'll leave a screenshot to tell the story but the B24D1's were lost over PM (along with 1 x George on CAP), the Tojo's mauled the Beaufighters, Wellington's and Blenheims over Magwe and the rest are victims of my George's (including some of the Blenheim's and Wellies) over Taung Gyi.

For tomorrow my George's stand down at Lae and Nick's are on CAP instead. George's have abandoned Taung Gyi for Rangoon and Tojo's flying from (an open) Meiktila will fly LRCAP.

I don't want to do this (as it will be to my detriment in game) but if Dad does the same attacks again tomorrow I will have to chat to him about this as his attacks are too predictable. I've calculated if this carries on he'll never have a month where he'll shoot down more of my planes than me him!

2 successful sub attacks today.

1 for Dad when SS Bowfin heavily damages AMC Kinryu Maru with a torpedo 7 hexes east of Manokwari. It;s doubtful he'll make it (20 SYS, 80 (66) FLT). I hope she can make it as I love these AMC's.

SS I-20 sank DMS Chandler with a torpedo near to Gardner Island.

KB carriers (that were upgraded in Japan) are now back at Truk. KB is reformed!

No other signs of attacks or invasions by the Allies at present.

I used to experience that. Now I just learn for one side. No worries. I won't use this specific example against you. I plan to modify it. [:D][;)]

SoPac:

Dad attacked PM again on the 11th with 4E, this time escorted by P38H's, and lost 8 planes for my 3 x Nicks.

On the 12th Dad tried a different tact and bombed my Naval Guard unit near Terapo with Mitchell's from Horn Island. No CAP was present and a few casualties were sustained.

Burma:

Only air attacks were a Sweep by Thuds over Taung Gyi on the 11th which shot down 5 of my Tojo IIa's for the loss of 1 Thud. On the 12th I had George's in the area over Taung Gyi and they shot down 3 x Hurri IIc (must be on LRCAP) and 8 x C87 Transports.

On the ground I've begun to mass Artillery units at Taung Gyi and have 6 x Artillery and Mortar Bn's/Rgt's. I'll try a bombardment attack tomorrow.

Total air losses over the 2 days were 32 Allied for 17 Japanese.

In the backwater area of China I'm able to start 2 new offensives against Siangtan and Sian. The attached screenshot shows the picture.

It's been a relatively quiet few days hence the lack of daily updates.

The Allies are logically planning and prepping for their next lunge and as such most of the action has continued to be focused on SE New Guinea and over Burma.

Burma:

Allied air attacks have stalled over recent days (good) logically due to heavy losses they have sustained at the hands of my George's. Most airbases are still closed except Rangoon, Meiktila and Taung Gyi. George's have kept up CAP over Taung Gyi for the past 4 days now and shoot down 5-10 enemy transports flying supplies to the surrounded Allies on the ground.

With artillery beginning to arrive at Taung Gyi artillery duels have begun over recent days mainly as a reason to reduce supplies but gradually to erode enemy strength. A further 36 x Mortar and 24 x Artillery Guns will be in place in the coming few days:

Amazingly my AMC damaged by sub a few days ago has made Manokwari port and is beginning to pump out the sea water[:)]

SS Truant claimed the only successful sub attack sinking the small AP Palau Maru returning from Burma (she dropped off part of an Art Rgt).

In China troops have reached Sian and will begin bombardments and recon tomorrow.

RL has kicked in meaning I've not been able to keep this up to date. We're nearing the end of September 1943. Unfortunately my laptop died a couple of days ago and that means our game is on hold until i buy a replacement (likely to be a desktop as fed up of laptops)
