Here's an area SW of Moscow where there's many meeting engagements. The two sides are colliding together and the heavy
fighting has started. And the supply level is too low to fight back. You have to save up your supply to have enough
to move or shoot. I'm thinking that I'm not going to get much further by turn 32 when the mud seasons start so I may
as well dress up the front lines and hold what I've got now.

Here's the supply situation out in the boonies near Kharkov. The railhead is decidedly not very close any more and it's
hard to get supply out this far. The mud season is coming in T32 or so, so I'm trying to gain every hex I can before
the rains start. Then pull everybody back to better supply.

I've got some units resting in the Kharkov area looking south. And some other units are out looking for Soviets. It
seems that a lot of the Soviet units have gotten themselves on the east side of the river and they are dug in waiting
for the Axis units to approach. But there are a few small groups on the west side. I'm trying to dominate them as we
speak.

Here's the area to the east of D-town and Z-town down south and as you can see I'm
in the surburbs of Stalino and the fighting is just probes so far. I'm bringing up
more troops for backup and to form a front line somewhere on this side of the river.
The mud season is almost here so I'm leaping forward knowing I'm going to have to
give up some of it.

If you follow the road leading south from Leningrad you'll soon come to Novgorod
and the area where a lot of fighting is going on. The supply situation is so low
that I can't really defend properly. The units get tired after just one attack and
take several turns to get green again. Good thing the mud season is starting soon.

Tanks of the 10th Panzer Division drive past positions held by the 114th Infantry regiment on their way to the north of
Novgorod. They are headed into harm's way.

I just did a bunch of airfield strikes and killed a lot of Soviet stuff on the ground
but the losses were almost as much as they lost. I'd say it's like 7:10 ratio for losses.
I'm going to have to give the planes some rest after that. Here's the last 20 or so.

Am I missing something or did you ooops the math? 80:200 losses would be 4:10 or 1:2.5.

You are of course quite right. I was embellshing the loss ratio for the ratings it would garner. Cooler
heads can see right though it though, obviously. I'm having a great game here and I'll try to make the
AAR more entertaining.

I did a save game and zipped it up and posted it here below for those of you that would like to take an in-depth look at
the situation, review some of the reports, maybe move some units around, that kind of thing.

Here's what's going on around the Stalino area right now. Meeting engagements are the rule in this area. I'm moving
slowly from left to right and the Soviets are there first. I'm trying to root them out and destroy them.

Just last turn I cleaned out all the Soviet units up against the river near Kiev so
all those troops are released from mopping up. Some are ready to travel and some, most
aren't. A turn of rest and then off to the east and the front lines. They will come
in handy toward the Kharkob area.

This is the area just SW of Moscow and I think the Soviets might be employing three-dot attacks because I saw a Soviet
attack in which one of the attackers evaporated.

Here's what's going on around Demyansk right now. We're fighting over the city and
it has no significant strategic value. It's a tactical thing....I need the room to
move my Panzers around. Plus I want the road and I'd like to destroy the Soviet
units parked there.

Here's an SdKfz 231-8 from the 53rd Aufklar of the 3rd Motorized Division as they
stop for a lunch break while they refill the fuel tank from Jerry cans. They are
just north of Novgorod on a patrol. The sounds of the battle can be heard in the
background.

that unit in-game.
