Ed has moved two understrenght Corps into Kweiyang yesterday and has several more ordered to cross the river again and I thought the units crossing the river would either arrive a day later or would shock attack before my troops attack but Japanese units always attack first which means I totally screwed up today disabling the equivalent of 3 IJA divs... [8|] ordering that attack was so far my biggest mistake in the China campaign...

and here's the Chinese shock attack across the river... Mundy did that before and said he wasn't aware of the river and took heavy losses as his troops were even kicked out of Kweiyang the next day and today he again shock attacks into my base... I can only explain this to myself that he might have thought his two Corps entering Kweiyang from the West would mean not triggering a shock attack when crossing the river from the North but that obviously isn't the case... my deliberate attack was horrible but this shock attack was even way worse... due to my failed attack today I can't attack tomorrow though as three divs are totally trashed...

really, I don't know what Mundy is doing... those 250,000 troops that were sitting at Ichang for no reason now seem to shock attack over the river into Changteh... the first 2 Corps that are crossing are totally shot up, one being destroyed... after weeks of bombing that whole Army is not combat ready anymore with most of the squads disabled due to the air attacks, the enemy doesn't even have supply anymore...

no air attacks but a crazy shock attack into Changteh... not sure what Mundy is doing, seems like he starts to suizide his Chinese troops... China was lost for him within the first two months after the truth there ended with severaly succesful IJ offensives and the same number of totally unsuccesful Chinese offensives but what he is doing now is giving away the rest of the cake too quickly and for no gain at all... an attack like this is netting us 100 pts for Allied ground losses and if he keeps losing stuff like this we will reach a 4:1 in victory points way before 43... the screen shows the assault values of the Chinese right at the start of the attack and shows what my constant air attacks have done to thise huge Chinese stack... that Army once had some 4000 av but most of the Corps were bombed to 0 av and the rest is also below 200 with no supply left...

like I have said earlier I'm getting the feeling the Chinese are ordered to suizide in more than one place... the enemy Army at Canton was cut off and is trapped but it's still an Army in being so I have to keep troops at Canton (even though we're only talking about brigades) and so I don't get why they are ordered to attack... no supply vs troops in an Urban heavy hex behind level 4 forts is clearly suizide even though the Chinese don't suffer as many losses as I would expect... no chance they can ever achieve something here I could even move out another brigade but I like making sure nothing can go wrong... probably not going to clear this hex before the rest of our targets in China are taken...

here's the graph for victory points, we are continuosly getting closer and closer to a 4:1 ratio, currently being at 3.8:1... there are no enemy attempts to score any points with an offensive and at the moment I also can't see a long term chance for them to actually achieve something with an offensive as I could fully react in force... this leaves Mundy with building bases which is something he is doing all over the map and that's what is actually giving him points although not enough to keep me from increasing the ratio... escpecially points for ground losses are racking up, the Chinese don't count for a lot but they still give me hundreds or better say thousands of points due to their insanely high losses as we are nearing 12,000 pts for ground losses already...

I've got an Army of around 230,000 men (5700 av) that is going to assault Chungking, shock attacking over the river... we only expect 3 or 4 combat units in Chungking, the rest has to be HQs and base forces, at least that's what I condlude from air recon and the bombings of Chungking... Mundy has moved 3000 av from Chungking South to attack Kweiyang and this could turn out as a big mistake... the Chinese stack at Kweiyang is marching North back to Chungking now though, 3 of my divs will block the hex South of Chungking to stop the Chinese from reinforcing their most important base...

Chungking is urban light but there must be quite some forts as my massed bomber strikes don't hurt the Chinese as much as I've expected...

ordered long range recon from Port Moresby to Townsville and the airfield was reported to be full of enemy fighters and so I have ordered the fleet to sortie... a TF of four BBs and one made up of heavy cruisers was moving into position while being covered by KB just to make sure the enemy isn't lucky with any possible air attack... the task forces take position and weren't spotted and it seems Mundy also wasn't alerted by my floatplanes spotting all of his subs on a daily basis... escorts are ordered to not bombard as I expect at least some CD at Townsville and there are so many big barrels hitting the base we should do quite some damage...

none of our bombers from Changteh flew strikes against Chungking today when our Army crosses the river... even though the enemy only has some 1085av in the base we take horrible losses from the river crossing... all our troops are at least 60& prepped, we have lots of HQs and also China Command HQ is prepped for Chungking... 2 divs are rendered completely useless, both down to 30-50 av which means at least 2 monhts until they can be used in combat again... the enemy loses nearly 50% of the available av in the base which made me optimistic even though we still face lvl 5 forts as we were twice unlucky with our combat engineers not reducing a fort level and the attack closely failing 2:1 which would have reduced another fort level... then I looked at the turn and was totally pissed as the Chinese stack that was moving North from Kweiyang TELEPORTED to the parallel road to the West... omfg that silly movement flaw! Mundy's units were ordered to move back to Chungking before my troops cut the road South of Chungking and so the Chinese moved NE and accumulated miles and then when my troops cut the road they used those 40 miles or so to teleport NORTH WEST... means instead of taking Chungking in the next couple of days it will be months of siege due to that f***ing movement flaw that has been in the game since release...

will only take a couple of days now and Mundy has another 150,000 troops in Chungking that come in from a road they have just teleported to... [:@][:@] the fact that the Chinese literally have no guns also means nothing when it comes down to losses within my assaulting units
