OB Turn 40

Still very little change in the Russian OB cause 100,000 casualties and they simply replace them within the week.

Any suggestions as a good OKH and Army Group commander, I guess I could put Halder back at OKH,
Nop, no suggestions :)
As we can see from a table, even with rating 6 (which is pretty bad for a Germans) at corps and army level, army group and and OKH receive only 28% and 23% of all failed checks.
But it is not uncommon to see leaders with 7-8 or even higher stats at a corps lvl, which in combination with an average (default) army leaders will reduce number of failed checks even further. That is why i do not bother with army group and OKH leaders.

But everyone has his own strategy :)

AG North Turn 41

With the breakout of Russian forces in the Ukraine I am pulling 4th Pz Armee out of the line sooner than I expected.

18th Armee launches a series of attacks to push back enemy troops and moves into position for General ground offensive.

16th Armee has also started to push against enemy troops further South.

AG Centre Turn 41

On the Moscow front both 9th Armee and 3rd Pz Armee make good inroads into the enemies lines.

Heavy attacks further south in the 2nd Pz and 4th Armee sector result in some small pockets.

I am aiming to retake Orel then push onto Voronezh

AG South Turn 41

The situation escalates as more Russian units pour through the gap and threaten 6th Armee's supply lines.

17th and 1st Pz Armee have launched counterattacks hoping to cut off this salient.

All along Army Group Souths front I have attacked.

Down on the Black Sea Coast line 11th Armee attacks as well.

Losses Turn 41

Another very good week for us as the Russians take over 150,000 casualties.

Even with the weather still not the best it is encouraging to see these figures.

Air losses Turn 41

More heavy losses for the Russians with over 450 aircraft destroyed.

If I can keep destroying this many each week it will be good.

OB Turn 41

I am starting to send the replacement Battalions to the east now to get my Pz Divisions up to strength.

With the weather turning for the better I am readying my forces to begin to destroy The Red Army, then the drive on The Caucasus will begin.

Not all of them just done a quick check and there is still some 1941 models both in Pz and PzG Divisions.

I am certain it will happen but for now they will just have to do with the equipment they have.

cheers

AG North Turn 42

4th Pz Armee begins its journey South, meanwhile the rest of the Northern Forces commence a drive to push the Soviets back into the interior of Russia.

With the fall of Leningrad the main emphasis on the Eastern Front now lies in the Centre and more importantly the South.

There are still some key objects to gain up North and 9th Armee is still key to the Battle for Moscow, but its main job now will be firstly destroying as many enemy units as possible and thereby forcing the Soviets to divert valuable manpower and material that would otherwise be used on the southern front.

AG Centre Turn 42

Heavy fighting continues in the Moscow sector as both 9th and 3rd Pz Armee's force Russian units back to the capital.

I have attached two Pz Divisions to 9th Armee also one Pz Korps from 3rd Pz is supporting it, the aim is to take Kalinin in the North then swing down south towards Moscow, while this happens the rest of 3rd Pz will take Tula then push up North.

The terrain around Tula is open and ideal for armoured formations, I don't necessarily want to capture it but encircling it or even placing troops adjacent to it will stop its supply status and be a massive disruption the the Soviet war machines ability to conduct effective offensives.

Further south I destroy the pocket of troops and prepare to move against Orel, if i can break through there lines there is lot of open country for my Pz's to move about in giving chances to trap more troops.

AG South Turn 42

I'm close to cutting off the salient here and trapping 10 Divisions, however my troops are exhausted and lacking fuel and supplies.

Around Stalino heavy fighting forces back several Russian units and 4 Russian DIVS surrender just South of Kharkov.

Mainly quiet in the Crimea but east 11th Armee pushes forward.

Ground losses were over 150,000 men at arms and over 550 tanks on the Russian side.

In the air the enemy lost over 300 planes.

The red Army is still close to 4 million

As my forces push towards Moscow The Russians begin to form a series of fortified regions hoping to stall the advance.

Its bit quieter further South as I try to get my troops into position for a major attack.

AG South Turn 43

Well I thought I was going to bag a nice pocket in the Kharkov area but Russian pulled just about all of there troops back, I did manage to destroy 1 or 2 of them.

Around Stalino sporadic fighting as the mud season begins.

Even quieter on The black Sea Coast as the mud hits the whole area.

Supply And production Turn 43

Here with the arrival mud across a lot of areas supply has slowed but we are still in good condition.

Production we are not bad but vehicles in repairs situation is very serious, over 120, 000 damaged.
