And then you went and posted to Speedy's AAR!! [:-] [:'(]

I was right. I posted here 4 minutes after I posted in Speedy's[:D][:D]

Thanks for the helping hand Bruce........I need all the help I can get.......

Sept 23rd 1943...........Gilbert Is.

BANG........BANG.......BANG.....The last sounds the crew of CVL Independence heard as I-7 put three fish into her port side......she sank within 10 minutes............

BANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANG............the last sound that the crew of I-7 heard as they followed their prey to the ocean floor.....

I-39 then put a fish into a TK.......moderate damage to the TK but I-39 was badly cut up by ASW....she won't make port....

Two other of my subs also were hit by depth charges and are looking to not make port........

This bring the total of my sub losses....so far.....to 8............for a CVL and an AP....and a damged tanker.......

Speedy invaded and took Makin.........

I'm airlifting troops off Tarawa........starting with the 2nd Yokosuka........

It's interesting that Speedy has decided to avoid Tarawa......(I'm now assuming he will bypass it).......it would have cost him...but he would have taken it.........and have a lvl 6 airfield at his disposal.......

Abemama is lvl 0 and can build up to 5.........
Makin is lvl 1 and can build to 4.........

With seabees.....he should have them up and running for LRB missions in about 6 weeks........but With Tarawa he could be bombing in a week.......

Still......It looks a good stategy.....my men are trapped on Tarawa........never to fire a shot.......and there is no way I can airlift out those CD guns........all in all well played Speedy.......curse your very soul........

transport mavis were capable of moving 5.5" guns !!!

my idea for fast transport/evac are 4 mavis-l units
they are able to move almost every unit in cenpac in 2 days

during my battle at canton isl they were able to deliver additional 72 aviation support from kwajelain ro canton isl in 2 days

That's good news....I have 2 Mavis-Ls on station.........will try to use some subs as well........but I'm losing a fair few........don't mind though if they can hit a few more CVLs........

Well I don't think it was possible in RL as the 14cm model 3 Naval gun had a barrel length of nearly 24 feet

Speedy says you got the Independence with a sub. Ouch. I think it was worth the sub.[:)]

Nicely done Faber. It's always a good day when you can sink a CVL.
