Since I didnt have the sence to email the CR to myself, I'm SOL for an update right now. The only thing of significance I recall happening is that Faber's relief collumn arrived in Songkhia and beat what I thought was an attack to bloody shambles. There is also another unit coming up from the south so the jog really is up. The only thing left to do is to try and get these guys to the coast where I have a couple of subs standing by. Sad. [:(]

You should really use Bodhi's utility. It can create backups of all your saves and combat reports. Of course, its main funtion is to summarize all SigInt reports and to display them on a map. Indispensable for an Allied player, IMO.

From the realm of things that I consider silly. I have a full squadron of Catalinas flying out of PM, another in Cairns, plus a squadron of SBDs on PM on 30% naval search. And when do I spot a huge TF approaching PM? When its 4 hexes away. Thats silly. Even sillier, no strike flys, not the SBDs, not the Hudsons, not the Beauforts, nothing. PM airfield damage is at 0. The only possibility that occurs to me is that this is the KB and my guys are too chicken to fly against the CAP. My carriers are at Sydney, still short the Yorktown. I'm sending them north at a measured pace. If it does turn out to be the KB, PM is on its own. I should surge some subs to the area, but the only ones that I didnt send to Java are the USN dud wagons. I also moved two squadrons of Hudsons from Darwin to Cairns. Faber now has some major airpower flying out of Rabaul. Things are going tyo get hot.

A Japanese sub struck a lone, empty AK east of Christmas Island. Now what is that bugger doing there?

Japanese infantry is maaking steady southerly progress in Java, approaching Soerabaja.

Weather was clear as a bell. Clear enough for Lae Zeros to come sweeping through my P-40s.

That TF by PM has withdrawn. The next turn I showed them moving south and My the 31st they were gone, likely headed southeast, out of my patrol range. Its just as well because I did not feel like getting my CVs involved just yet, before the Yorkie arrives. That, and maybe a lack of response from me will lull Faber into commiting inadequate forces.

Clark is about to fall. Yesterday Faber knocked the forts down to 1. Today they fell to 0. I still managed to kill 2400 pengins for a little over a 1000 of my own guys, but PI resistance is done. I have a couple of subs on the way to Baatan to pick up a few units for cadres, but thats about it.

O21 hit an AP loaded with troops off Batavia. Probably support troops being shipped in.

There are two divisions and a para unit in the spearhead of the drive for Soerabaja. The forts are up to 6, so I'm hoping he'll break a few teeth chewing on it.

The guys in northern Malaya are now deffinitely cut off.

Now will come a time to start worrying about Fabers aircraft. A lot of them became availible after Singers fell. Even more will free up after Clark goes. This war looks to get worse before it gets better.

Faber has 3 TFs headed roughly south from Batavia along the coast of Java. Either he plans to land at Soerabaja (which would bake little sense, considering he can accomplissh everything he needs by land) or he's aiming for southern Borneo. In either case, S-38 got a chunk of one of his APs today, troops and all.

Clark still holds! How? I have no idea. The fowl one is frothing at the beak. Although I lost 2300 men to his 1700 today, and they cant keep this up for long, its amazing that theyve held out this long.

I'm thinking that I am deffinitely getting the better end of the bomber strikes on Mandalay. Faber is losing an Oscar shot down and several damaged every other day, while I cant recall the last time he actually shot down a Fort, althought many come back shot up.

Resupply and reinforcement TFs are still making their way towards OZ. Unfortunately, none of it is happening fast enough for my tastes. Even sadder is that I no longer have enough APs on the WC to move an RCT destined for SwPac. [:@] The Americal arrives soon and will also cool its heels in Frisco until I can find enough lift capacity.

As I recal, Hornet will grace us with its presence in 17 days. [&o] Another 6 months and I can actually consider taking the CVs out.

Oh, I'm sure that one or even two are BTFs. As for the mining, I'm afraid that's a no. One of the biggest mistakes I made earlier on was losing all of my Dutch MLs save one (the AI was just never this ruthless in hunting the puppies down). The only survivor, the Pro Patria, is now in Ceylon.

I never know what to do with minelayers.

I learned a lot from reading Fabers AAR against Speedy. The man uses mines like theres no tomorow....and gets good results too.

My air arm has gotten its first bite of the IJN. A BTF headed by the Fuso, Ise and 3 CAs visited Soerabaya today. In the process, my CD guns took a chunk out of the Kuma, enough of a bite for it to separate. In the morning, it was attacked by my bombers. The Dutch contributed 250lb bomb, but the Australian Beauforts planted two torps into the thing. Not sure if it sank yet, but I'm hoping. Did I mention I love Beauforts?

Faber is cleaning up some of the small islands and bases. He took Gili, Emirau (north of Rabaul, by Kaveing) and Lunga.

He seems to have stepped down the Clark Field assaults for today, contenting himself with bombardment. I hope his divisions are in tatters.

I also found out where that transport TF was going. The 38th ID has disembarked at Kragen (just north of Soerabaja) and took it. Three units, 2 IDs and a para unit are at Soerabaja now. The conclusion in the DEI is near.

Umm...in a way, yes. Theyre excercize and recreation ships. You park one anywhere you wanna hold a track meet or a big banquet. I have 3 in Australia now. Come the 1950s, Australia should be winning at least half the medals at the summer olympics.
