Western Allies. Western Front. Land Combat (2/3). Metz.. Allies fail on a better than 80% chance to take Metz.

Turn 31. Sep/Oct 1944. Allied #5.

Western Allies. Western Front. Land Combat (3/3). Operation Market Garden.. Like the real world counterpart, Operation Market Garden fails and results in the loss of an airborne division (101st in this case). And again, the Western allies fail on a combat with (nearly) 80% chance of success. Needless to say the allies experience some hard luck on these the last two land combats, which each had ~80% chance of success. Enough to drive senior command and high level politicians mad!

Actions. Germany has 8 u-boat flotillas sitting in Kiel that Gross Admiral Donitz has been pushing for for some time to get out to sea and sink allied convoys. He finally got his wish. Well, to get them out to sea that is. Whether or not they successfully find and sink allied convoys is yet to be determined.

Japan uses their combine to both get 2 more CP's out into the Sea of Japan and to order their I-boat flotillas in the Marianas and Bismarck Sea to search for and sink allied convoys. Again, whether or not they succeed in their orders is yet to be determined.
