Watch your unloading of oil and resources there. I'm not sure what happens if you try to unload oil or resources and there's 999,999 in port.

I track my oil/resource levels pretty closely and try to increase the levels in each level. Currently I have 7 months of reserves at each region.

True Mike, actually I wasn't aware of how much resources and oil I had in Sasebo.
It's usually distributed out, but I've been bringing in all the reserves my ships can carry over the last two months.

I usually spread the convoys out a bit. You are right though about the movement of resources and oil. Sasebo seems to be the last place the AI moves resources and oil from though.

Any way PzB what are your experiences with G4m2 as those will appear in Production in a month[:)] I plan to start the AAR with Zeta but when we reach 1944 or some action will be taking place[:)]

As far as I know the G4M2e Ohka carriers doesn't work... They only achieve near misses.
Like so many other wonder weapons...real and imagined [8|]
Must admit that I feel the bugs favor the Allies by a margin though! [:-]

It isn't always like this, and it makes me wonder.... Most annoying. Does anyone know the reason for this and whether this
is how it should be?

Got some plans for the last phase of the war: If Andy lands anywhere near Formosa or Okinawa I will pull all my base force units
in China closer to the coast and make it possible to launch massive strikes against the enemy. There aren't that many large aviation
units in the Home Islands, surprisingly few actually. Shouldn't there be more 'fixed' base forces in the major cities?

Lol i noticed this in my pbem, i was pretty sure it wasnt like that pre 1.8, although i think having a Air HQ at the base means you dont have to have 20k supplies.

Unfortunately Air HQ doesn't have anythign to do with it either...dropped down to 19991 supplies on Clark Field with Air HQ and
suddenly I didn't get any replacements anymore *grumble*

Not long ago I pulled replacement ac from an isolated base in Northern NG with 190 supplies with no Air HQ.
Me thinks this may be an issue...

Hmmm im pretty sure im drawing supplies from Tarawa with has under 20k, i suppose its kind of realistic, in the sense that an isolated base in Northen NG would not be able to replace pilot or plane losses.

But it obviously doesnt always work like that, as the Allied side can do the same to a newly conquered base thats still has Japanese holdouts and is hundereds of miles from the nearest Allied base, as long as they throw enough supplies at it.

IIRC if the airgroup is also in range of the HQ (Base HQ I believe) then they can also draw planes and pilots.

Unfortunately I find no hold in the Air HQ base rule either. Even bases with Air HQs and 19k supplies
refuse to provide replacement ac. In the Palaus Yap got 19500 supplies and Palau got an Air HQ with a range of 5 hexes.
Have to move more supplies in to reinforce my air units.

Enemy Carriers in the Java Sea

Bad weather covered Soerabaja/Pamakasan and the enemy carrier TF today. Perfect timing
for once. Instead of sacrificing my naval bombers I spread them out, disband TFs and order
all other ships to move away. Soerabaja got 120 fighters, Palembang 200. Let Andy grit his
teeth on our defenses if he wish to.

Maybe you misunderstood what I mean:
 
I believe if an Air unit is in range of the BASE HQ then it will receive replacements. For example if a base is assigned to China Exp Force and the air units are in range of China Exp. Force Base HQ then they will receive replacements.

I have a area HQ, Southern Area Army, and a base which is inside its command radius, but under 20k Supplies and i could only draw some pilots.

I was wrong on Tarawa i have over 20k supplies there, until Robs bombers hit it anyway..

Hm, the strange thing is that I have seen air units loose and obtain their ability to receive replacements
in the same bases with the same HQs for a long time - and I've not moved their Base HQs. Thinking of China here, very
static stand off.

In this game ALL air units in bases with less than 20k supplies can currently not receive replacements. Don't think
this should be the case as I have concentrated my Base HQs in tight defensive boxes by now. Southern Area Army
has a range of 8 hexes!

I agree with you. Unless a base has 20k supply, an air unit can't receive replacement aircraft. I'm at a low point in China and no base has 20k supply. I can't get any replacement aircraft anywhere in China.

Hm i thought it was somthing i was doing wrong, seems its a new feature. I Kept on asking myself whether it was that i needed 3x or 4x the amount of the supply, this is ridiculous to expect the Japanese player keep 20k supplies in every base with a squadron or so of planes.

Air units will automatically gain replacements under certain circumstances if aircraft our available
in the replacement pool and the air unit has been set to Accept Replacements. To get
replacement aircraft to flow automatically into an air unit, there must be planes in the pool and
one of the following cases must be true (the first true will take effect):

• The air unit is located at a base and the base has over 20000 supplies. Supplies will be
  expended at the base and the unit will receive damaged planes from the pool (they may
  repair before the next orders phase during the repair phase).
• The air unit is located at a base and the HQ that the base is assigned to is within transfer
  range of the air unit’s aircraft type and the HQ is located at a base that has over 20000
  supplies. Supplies will be expended at the HQ’s base and the unit will receive damaged
  planes from the pool.

Maybe this helps.

That's how I thought it should be VSWG. It's just a bit strange that Ulithi with more than 20k supplies
and the Southern Area HQ can't provide replacements for my air groups at Yap with 19.5 supplies. Have to double
check next turn.

The problem isn't so much supplies as the inability to MOVE supplies into a base.

As I believed he would, Andy moved his carrier TF north into the Java Sea.
I counter by placing 48 Zeke FBs on kami attack in a nearby base. Any further incursion will be met by a
heavy CAP and suicide attacks!!

I think Yap is assigned to Southeast Fleet, not Southern Area HQ. You might want to check that.
