I have been running into a problem I had playing WITP and using tracker already and I am now encountering again, after having used tracker for something like 80 turns it takes a terribly long time to load the programme. It took nearly 10 minutes to load tracker yesterday and from my earlier experience it will only become worse. Now I've seen several screenshots on the forum when ppl have been using tracker for hundreds of turns it seems, not possible for me.

Have a pretty decent computer, lots of RAM and all the stuff you've got nowadays and am using settings Damian suggested in some of the posts here. I'm sure the same issue has come up before, unfortunately I haven't got the time to go through all those 105 pages here, sorry if I'm beating a dead horse. It's such a great tool for AE and I really would like to use it for my whole PBEM campaign as it gives you such great info and nice detail for my AAR but as it is now, it gets unusable again, same problem I had during WITP, on a different (but pretty new at that time) PC.

Please call me Damian ;-)
No - just the correct dll ...
The pwsdll.dll should be in the beta2 folder if you're using the "unofficial" beta. The MP dll is different from the normal one.

Cheers

Hi Damian,
I've loaded the latest patch down, but I don't have a Beta2 Directory anywhere in the game folder[&:], and the patch is an autorun

I take it you have applied the patch - right? You must be using the official beta patch. This patch overwrites the files in the game root directory. I'd copy the pswdll.dll from c:\Matrix games\War in the pacific Admirals Edition\ to your tracker folder.
Delete the trackerdb.* files and give it another go ...

Sorry for not explaining properly before...

Impossible [;)] You haven't cleared the db files correctly. Delete all the trackerdb.* files there are usually 6 of them. Do it say initializing DB in the dos screen?

Then after the first turn is loaded, then you can load subsequent turns which are game time dated in advance of the last turn loaded...

"usually 6" .. depends how you exit the program ... so you should be all good...

I assume you're getting the "turn already loaded" message cause you are not reading the next turn but the same turn.

Go to the Tracker page for more instructions or watch

Not sure if you already have received this suggestion for the next version... The newer Betas have a feature where a device can be "stockpiled" to allow it to build up (meaning units with replacements or upgrades On cannot receive the item). On the Devices tab, could Tracker have some indication of this? Maybe a column, maybe a different color?

Another request. On the Devices tab Tracker has a column to indicate when a device begins production. Could you add a column to the right of that one to indicate when the device stops production? Some devices do not stop production even when the device in their upgrade path begins production, so I wind up switching back to the game to look at the pool data (which has that column now).

Thanks for considering these things. [:)]

I'm trying to load a turn into a Tracker version 1.8 that I've had going for awhile with the betas & it was working w/ the regular betas but this turn is the first turn I'm trying to load that is w/ the MP version as I started having out of pilot slots problems. When I try to load the turn into the Tracker I've had going it locks up in the updating pilot info step (I've let it go for over an hr with no movement that I can discern) so I quit Tracker. I started a new Tracker 1.8 & it says initializing database but doesn't seem to end (even after over an hr I don't see the press any key to exit I'd expect) so I close the DOS window & start it like I'm going to load a turn but I get the following. I've moved the pwsdll & pwsdllMP files from the beta2 folder. Anything else I might've missed or is Tracker not set to work w/ the MP version?

Version 1.8 doesn't work with the MP version. You will have to wait for the 1.9 version.

If you rename the pwsdllMP to pwsdll.dll then it might work with some errors. I can load using 1.8 doing it this way.
