sorry but in Andy`s case you can't be harsh enough anymore. We have told him in his AAR he has to stop these unsupported "let's pack some troops on ships and move them over the ocean to land them somewhere" operations where he loses halve of the ships all the time to get a non important base 10000 miles away from Japan often enough but like I've said, he doesn't listen, he doesn't learn. There is a good reason why he has no cover for this invasion, because he has done so many borked assault before when he was often enough told already he shouldn't do it the way he does all the time.

This is no attempt on taking away PzB victories or his ability to teach Andy a lesson 9 out of 10 times Andy tries to do something but the way Andy is moving forward even the AI would slap him. All it has needed here at Port Blair was LBA. Wow, an absolute genius strategic move to have some LBA in the area. [:D] How can one do such an operation and not expect to lose a myriad of ships? But hey, you may take Port Blair then. Port Blair????

It's like I've said some time ago, as soon as Andy will move his "carrier fleet" (the remains of what an Allied commander should have at this stage of the war) into an area where PzB can use a couple of big overlapping airbases he will finish off all of Andy's remaining dreams to do an offensive because that will be the end of what is left of Allied carrier strenght. This campaign will end in the inevitable defeat of the Allied fleet and I guess this will happen within the next 6-10 months. Kudos to PzB!

Andy is doing what he feels he have to do.
With good planning he can land lots of force before I will be able to retaliate.
I do try to have fast reaction forces ready for most exposed bases though, even a small force can cause lots of harm to a lightly defended invasion force.
A little disruption and our airborne samurais can rip them to pieces! [:-]

It's a hard road from now on an in; it's especially hard to procure supplies in AE despite my careful handling of production.
All non-vital factories have been shut down; not produced an A6M5 in months as I consider them obsolete.
Plan is to replace them with SAM fighters in a years time. I'm mostly researching the A7 SAM...the Grace will come into production in 1-2 months and replace our
nerfed Judy's.

Shipyards are working 24-7 though, strain will go down soon as our last fleet carriers have almost been completed, see screen.
Lots of major upgrades of Combined Fleet, e.g. CVE Taiyo gets radar and a decent AA suite. Takes 40 days!

We're also increasing the number of destroyers - a major weak spot. In a few months the destroyer ratio vs heavy ships should become better.
Then I will concentrate on getting as many radar equipped subs ready as possible. I've halted all silly and expensive transport subs.

Supply / Oil / Fuel wise we should be able to hang on throughout the war but I'm finding it very challenging to find enough supplies to distribute throughout the Empire.
Twice a month convoys sail from Tokyo and the local resourced in the SRA supply the minor bases there. Burma is a sink hole though...eats 120k or more a month.

We are getting a lot of LCU reinforcements; this is important as they can secure our well fortified bases and allow me to place the assault divisions in reserve and use them to counterattack with.
The more time we gain, the harder the road becomes for Allies...that's why Andy has to try, no matter the risk & cost.

Andamans - Burma / Industry - Production

I have not looked at the Japanese production for a while so perhaps someone could confirm that:

The HI Req number for Engines should be divided by 30 (as in days in a month) to be comparable with the other numbers, right?

Almost 2 weeks since the last update. How are things?

Turns have been a bit slow lately and now a lot of action worth mentioning - but that changes today.
- A quick summary; enemy finally captured Salamua and our troops retreated in a bugged line towards Lae. There shouldn't be a path between Salamua and Lae (sea only).
Shouldn't be an issue but I told Andy that I didn't expect his troops to swim after them..!-)

We also hit and sank half a dozen transports near Darwin.
Allies are bombing Port Blair and bases in southern New Guinea region.

I have "posed" a few TFs of AKL supply ships south of Port Blair, counting on a reaction by Allies.
At the same time 2 large supply TFs have been unloading at Bangkok (were we got 600 fighters).
- Today we got the desired results, hundreds of Allied bombers attacked our almost empty transports at Bangkok.

For a loss of ca 40 fighters and 5 pilots KIA we brought down ca 170 enemy fighters and bombers including 85 Thuds and many elite B-25s.
This was a good day! [8D]

Thats one grim toll of good allied airframes there , those thuds will be missed sorely by Andy. I wonder why they are escorting bombers to Bangkok when they really should be flying over port blair and the bombers hammering you there. Still its always nice to be given a gift horse when one is offered.

Are you able to produce the Sam fighter in 6/44? If not when do you expect to see it come on line? We are having a discussion in Greyjoy's AAR about how quickly Japan can advance her fighters, as we have noticed that Rader is producing the Sam in mid 44 and that seems a bit early. I suggested we check with you as you seem to have about as firm a grip on Japanese production as anyone.

Andy put his Thuds on escort...if the bombers had targets in Andamans they would have followed there.
Since they went to Bangkok which was closer they followed there instead. The ability to specify escort zones is a costly one indeed.

6/44 [&:] I would say that 3-4 months advance is maximum, never had more.
R&D factories hardly procude prototypes before a year or so of the ac's actual entry.
I'm hoping for SAM in May-June 45 - having problems getting numerous factories to produce.

We actually brought a KB division to the Andamans; they intercepted bombers and raids there and attacked 2 enemy destroyers.

Tomorrow we're landing our supply and troop convoys in AKLs at Port Blair.
Andy has air mined the place heavily, so going to cost us!

Yup...rader has started the SAM production in early june 1944.... And they are fast and deadly!

Ah yes, forgot...the Sen Baku is the first fighter-bomber unit.

140k supplies brought in - Burma theatre devour supplies as I've mentioned before.

Anyway, everyone playing AE knows that naval ac will attack the nearest and juiciest targets.
I've said it a hundred times; we need air zones to determine were to attack and not.

This turn we had numerous skirmishes around Andamans; we sunk and damaged several subs and smaller destroyer type ships.
Our only major loss was a loaded fleet oiler torpedoed to the south.
- Large number of enemy fighters swept Port Blair and PT boats intercepted my ships.
Right, PT boats faar into the ocean without fuel [8|]

We still unloaded 5k supplies today and more than 60 small AKLs are hard to stop - all expendables.
Raizo Tanaka personally commanded one of our surface combat TFs that torpedoed and sank an enemy destroyer.
He still hasn't lost it![&o]

Burma - Andamans

After more skirmishing we managed to screen out transports at Port Blair; the light cruiser Yubari got badly shot up single handedly defending a convoy against 2 destroyers.
She should be find though, mostly superficial damage.

We have now unloaded the bulk of an Expeditionary unit and a large Bde; some 240 AV in total bringing Port Blair up to 700 AV with 6 forts.
Supplies are up to 24k with another 10k unloading.

It will be much more difficult to capture the place now! [:)]

Anyway, everyone playing AE knows that naval ac will attack the nearest and juiciest targets.
I've said it a hundred times; we need air zones to determine were to attack and not.

I would say juiciest first, then nearest.
Considering that even now pilots have trouble in finding what exactly they are supposed to attack (I just read Patton, and he already mentioned two attacks by Hurricanes on his positions), I would opt for only change to include friendly troops as possible target.

That was surely security forces for freshly conquered base, NOT taking the base have not changed their mission in any way [:D]

Uuu, 12cm AA Rockets. Does Andy changed them in his private patch? Currently they are not working, because effect is set to 0.


Presence of Allied CVs in south could mean, that there are serious operation in progress. I would bet on those locations, sorted by probability:
- Rabaul
- Kwajalein
- North of Australia

Also, it seems few CVs are missing. Maybe there will be surprise raid in north? Like Midway/Wake/Kuriles.

Ah yes, forgot...the Sen Baku is the first fighter-bomber unit.
I'm training it in low naval attack! Can turn Kamikaze later [;)]

PzB, please remember that the availability of units that take the Sen Baku fighter bomber is rather low.
In my game I see only 2 or 3 active daitais that can take them... and those are Chitose/Chiyoda type + 3 in reinforcement queue available only in July/August... so IMHO do not overproduce them. [;)]

Also I am kind of shy of changing them, because of no knowledge concerning proper usage... Anybody, any experience with Sen Baku? They work just like a standard medium bomber or rather in quasi diving mode? [&:]

BTW: did you notice the early July shave off our navy wings? There are many daitais that are due to withdraw.
How do you intend to cope with it?

Some FOW and FUBAR factors should be allowed in; e.g. aggressivness overruling limitations etc.
But there's a big difference in sending 400 or 40 ac against well protected target.

Allied carriers pounding our isolated troops in Line Islands.
Spotted formation heading west from Christmas today. No doubt Andy will continue his advance in Central Pacific.
I consider Midway - Marshalls - New Britain - Central New Guinea to be likely targets throughout 1944.

When we receive our last carriers we should have 14 fleet, 6 light and 6 escort carriers ready for action.
The 12cmm AA rockets are for celebrating Japanese New Year [:)]

Only producing 20 Sen Baku a month, will only equip one unit and a complete set of reserve ac.
Training the unit in low naval attack; will use it to cause havoc on enemy shipping without proper protection.
- Later production will switch to ac type that is more acutely needed.

Our reserves of Frank and Tony fighters are now rising; all first line Army ac types upgraded.
Still got some non-carrier trained Zeke units that awaits upgrade to Jack / George types.

Almost completed unloading at Port Blair; Andy is bombing the place profoundly but now supply leves are back up at 30k+.
Will try to sneak in AKLs whenever possible to keep the levels up.

Enemy Carrier Activity - Central Pacific

The Akitsuku class destroyers will have 485 AA rating after their 7-44 upgrade.
That's light cruiser class; should help complement our lack of heavy escorts.

Allied OPS losses soars as they fly max range strikes against targets like Port Blair.
Problems and damage and they have to ditch in the big drink.
