That attack took 20% of the turn, so now I'm going to use the surviving rocket
unit to attack that airbase at Tuy Hoa and try to get some helicopters:

Now 30% of the turn is used. There are still 2 Transportation helicopter units there
at Tuy Hoa and I'm going to attack again to try to get some of them:

Now 50% of the turn is used. I don't dare move the rocket unit 'cause Allied interdiction
will probably kill it. I learned early in this turn not to move any units. Now I'm going
to attack again. Before my attack could be carried out Allied interdiction killed it. And
the turn ended here.
I learned early in the turn not to move any of my units because 99% of them were bombed and evaporated
as a result. I imagine that Curt will have a lot of planes on reorg during his turn because of all the
interdiction that took place.

Allied Turn 25, Jan 1967 -
Not sure if my plan worked. Air losses have increased (11 B-52s lost this month alone. I had only previously lost 13 for the whole war up until now). Enemy activity has decreased slightly. I'm eliminating the smaller pockets but having trouble with the larger ones. Especially the 2 NVA divisions that Larry managed to sneak down the trail and send into Chau Doc.
So air losses are up and ground casualties are up. The victory level is still hovering at around +12.

I seem to be getting far fewer reinforcements than I usually do this turn:

I succeeded in overrunning a few of the airbases to the south of Saigon during the night:

Allied Turn 26, Feb 1967 -
According to a newstring Allied bombing has damaged the NLF supply net. The only problem is I never attacked. It must have happened on an interdiction strike. When the Allied players calls Free Fire with all of his B-52s on interdiction some strange things can happen. It just as easily could have been the civilian unit that was destroyed, which would have penalized me via the EEV. Anyway, Restricted Fire is back in effect and the B-52s are standing down except for some strikes against the HCM trail.
Besides a very costly attack way down in An Xuyen where I lost 2 companies from the 199th, the turn went well and I achieved most of my objectives. There are still 2 major enemy incursions that I have not eliminated. One near Loc Ninh.
And one near Tinh Bien
You see, my decision to go with minumum troops means I can't spare the heavy units to fight the NVA and dedicate the light units to fight the VC at the same time. I expected Larry to "get while the gettin's good" but he stood fast so eventually I'll have to do something about both these bulges.

Allied Turn 27, March 1967 -
Much quieter this turn. Larry withdrew out of one bulge but the other remains. Managed to finally get off some attacks against the HCM trail, although they were completely useless. Looks like the AA is shooting them down from a hex away!

Allied Turn 28, April 1967 -
I do believe we are entering the Allied happy time, where enemy activity pretty much disappears and the victory level starts to climb steadily. I'm going to continue with attacks against the HCM trail but instead of B-52s I'll use fighter bombers based in the Thailand. The losses are still high but they are more easily replaced.
Finally eliminated the 962nd VC battalion way down in An Xuyen. They had withstood my attacks for 6 months.
