What is OE?

Ottoman Empire I think.
I wouldn't mind Japan. Does the China option involve turning over three turns, or are they all in one?
France would be my second preference, but I'm happy to take whatever's left over.

If I can get some hints on how play this, I might be tempted to join.

Although Austria is not included. Tsk.

@TheArchduke, Germany includes Austria if you want to take it. No special rules so it is a straight forward game. Only difference is that there is a 1900 SFType set.

Playing Germany is easy going in case that ...

... strongest player takes Germany, France joins an alliance and keeps the western front clear, so Germany can concentrate on the east and overrun Russia, the Balkan and Far East. Then Germany can attack British colonies while France weakend Britain by heavy bombing. Nation after nation will fall and Germany wins a glorious war.

But it might come out in a different way in case that ...

... France and Britain form an alliance and attack Germany in north and west while Russia sends his hordes across the Balkan into the heart of southern Germany. Germany is doomed within the first turns and has to say bye-bye.

Or ...

... Britain is busy fighting against US for the Canadian territory, while France is busy fighting against Brazil for colonies in S-America, while Russia is busy fighting China and Japan that try to capture parts of eastern Russia, while the Ottomans are busy taking province after province in the south of Russia. Germany can wait and build up technology and forces and look for the right moment to attack all its exhausted neighbours and defeat them all.

So I hope it has become a bit clearer to see how Germany might be played in this scenario. [:D]

We had a strategy thread going somewhere else around here. It's a basic AT game with really old military stuff and some scaled economics from the period. At least that's the way I understand it. The diplomacy is not 'in the game' as it were, it's all done outside directly with the players.

There's a few action cards that can reset relations and even though I tried them a few times, I don't think they actually worked.

Haven't heard from GrumpyMel. If we get no other takers:

- Do we run France and Germany with AI?
- Do we try some combinations? (Eg., Germany with Japan, France with US or Russia)

1-Won´t the Archduke join? He could play Germany.
2-We could contact GM to see what he want

1-While I cannot upgrade GD for now, I think we could prepare an interim version based on Bombur mod 3 in two or three days. Bombur v3 introduces a few surprises, like night bombers and fighters, escort vessels, and self propelled AA. It also makes more difficult to build swarms of artillery, because artillery costs increase to 30:1 compared with infantry. Submarines also are more vulnerable to destroyers and patrol aircraft. Mobilizers are also a lot cheaper and trains will work as trains. No other changes besides the new units are to be introduced. What do you think? Jeffrey is currently running a Bombur mod game.

I can wait 2-3 days. Let's see if anyone else wants to join. If not, we can decide then.

Sounds great. So I think we should wait 2-3 days. I have just asked TheArchduke whether he wants to join or not. I think he would fit it well in this group.

Running Germany with AI sounds interesting.

Hmm, I will join. Germany or France sounds ok with me.

New version sounds great. Any chance of making engineers cheaper/more effective as well?
