Sheesh! where's the challenge in that? Why don't you pick a country that doesn't have all those advantages? :p
IMHO, if one can't win with the US, it's time to go back to the tutorials.

I also play mostly the US side, it's humbleing to play the Germans against the US in late 44,( I'm doing that now, not a pretty picture) once the US gets Pershing's they are very hard to beat. Play a game than swap sides and play again ? Taking nothing away from Rokono, he's an EXCELLENT player, but I have to agree with Capt. Pixel, It wouldn't be a very balanced game unless you play before '44

Hmmm... are you guys really doing something?
I mean, there are many many threads in AAR/DAR forum which date back to July or something (now it's September 10th here in Great Northern Woods of Finland), and I'm still not getting a clean picture. Could someone please keep an eye out of this thing, which began as "PBEM World Cup 2002" and resulted as "I want the US! Or no, gimme the Gerries"?
I do not think I'm the only one who is interested in the events on these matches. Try to keep us informed, please? Thank you.

I apoligize for not bieng able to do the DAR's, I have been and will be for the next two weeks working long hours, but to put it in a nut shell Rokondo,( US ) VS. BigBill ( German) playing a late '45 meeting engagement
From the beginning of the game he was unstopable. The US armor force's out shot my hapless German panzers every turn.
last turn in an act of desperation I placed 4 Nashhorn and 4 Jagdpanthers on hills opposite his line of advance waiting for him to show.
Without sending any decoy vehicles ( recon

) first, he procieded over the hill with his Pershings
The German Panzers couldn't hit squat with opportunity and counter fire, the Pershings return fire was on the money, say goodbye to my remaining armor!
One interesting point is how little Arty. Rokondo used to basicly walk through the German force's.
The German is now fighting a delaying action but the outcome of this game is decided.

The battle between Ironfist and Boro ended with Boro as champion. An AAR was listed atleast a month or two ago. Never Heard anything back from World cup players. So If figured I was knocked out. The game was a draw I beleave with Boro haveing the greater points. You may want to comfirm this with him. It's been awhile since I've heard from him. I made the fatal misstake of allowing air units.

but looking forward to the rematch....

We don't have DAR.

Tankhead informed me that he currently does not have time to play and has given the game to me. I'm sure it would have been a difficult and close game however, on to the next round;)
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

The American force's compleatly over powered the Germans, It seemed that from the first turn the Pershing's were superior to the German armor, first shot , amount of shot's, toughness, speed.
The US in late '45 is hard to beat, especialy in the hand's of a skilled player like Rokondo
Good luck tom his next opponent
Bigbill

Thanks

The US was successful in holding back the German hordes. rbrunsman ~13,000 points, Scharfschutze ~6,000 points. A marginal victory for me.
I'm on to round 3, if there is one. There doesn't seem to be much action here lately.
Only me and you
