STARTS....
AAR UPDATE:- 23rd December 1942.
China:-
Imperial HQ are pleased with the progress of the China campaign.
After fierce fighting over the year, only a handful are still in Chinese hands. Preparations are now in hand to move on Chungking, where extreme street fighting is expected.
Intelligence suggests the Chinese Army is on its last legs with supplies at an all time low.
Burma:-
Burma has been a tough campaign so far, and large elements of the Imperial Army were engaged in a Stalingrad like battle at Akyab until the beginning of December 42.
Both sides threw everything into the battle which went on for months, with appalling losses on both sides.
Thankfully Akyab is firmly in Imperial hands, and preparations are in hand for the next phase of the campaign.
South Pacific:-
With Port Moresby and Guadacanal still safely in Imperial control, DH has found it tough going in the Pacific.
After a massive battle in June/ July, several American CV's were sent to the bottom, for the cost of only [ censored ] Japanese CV's
The Allies took Tarawa, Makin, Nauro and Ocean islands without too much problem, but then met with disaster at Kusaie, where most of the 27th Infantry Division and a couple of dozen Allied ships
ended up at the bottom of the sea.
Overall the situation is good, and Japan looks forward with confidence to 1943, although the ever increasing Allied air strength is causing concern.
