As a quick note, Uncle Mark's Tutorial 4 and 5 are missing from the community scenario pack. I'd love to see these added back in.

Quick fix for NF-8. Had to rename a couple of squadrons, had them coming in on another CVN later and needed to sort it out to prevent duplicats.

Some Fixes for NF-9.1 on a couple issues KGambit picked up. Also trying to use the Docking feature, not sure if it's set up correctly but the old events are still in there so you get points for just hanging around in the area anyway.

NF-9.5 Some name changes and have added a VMFA Sqn to the Eisenhower for story consistency and that should make play balance a bit better as well.

NF-9.7 Tweaked this one for balance. Most were finding it overwhelming, might still be but a few of the airborne ASW ptls have been thinned out - a bit.

I don't think I ever got around to releasing this to the Community pack. Many thanks to everyone that's helped with it over the last (!!!) 20 months.

The Bridges at Toko Ri, Korea 1952

Image

February 1952

The Bridges at Toko-Ri (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bridges_at_Toko-Ri) was based on author James Michener's writings as an embedded reporter on USS Essex (CV 9) and USS Valley Forge (CV 45) in the winter of 1952. This scenario is loosely based on the plotline of the movie, and while there's a lot less Grace Kelly, there's still a teak deck and plenty of early jets wearing Navy Blue.

Take command of Task Force 77.9, centered on the USS Essex, and execute defense suppression strikes in support of a US Air Force attack on two railroad bridges.

Total Units: 9 Ships, 112 Aircraft
Scenario Time: 13 hours

And this one is 18 months old... It's big, complex, and could probably benefit from a refresh, but I figured I'd at least start with just getting it out there for real.

01 February 2019

The island of Sumba, in Indonesia, has been torn by growing ethnic and anti-Western violence. Increasingly well-organized militias have been targeting Indonesian government facilities, outside business interests, tourists, and the civilian population.

Indonesia’s ambassador to the United Nations requested assistance on January 25; The Indonesian President formally and specifically requested Australian armed assistance on January 27. The President hasn’t been seen in public since and subsequent official statements on the situation have been issued from office of the Indonesian Minister of Defense. These statements have been contradictory and stress the internal nature of the conflict.

The militia is not executing civilians wholesale right now, but their public declarations and demands have been growing more strident. The militias are known to have captured at least one heavy weapons depot; any other assistance they are receiving is unknown, though its suspected that the Indonesian military is complicit in their activities and may be passing intelligence. It’s possible that the Indonesian military will act to defend the militias, their intentions are unknown.

The issue of intervention has stalled in the UN Security Council along predictable lines: the United States willing to intervene, France and Great Britain somewhat less so, and Russia and China holding to their long-held stance that nations internal struggles are no business of the UN.

While the UN debates and decides, the Australian govermnet has determined that the Indonesian request for assistance on January 27 is all the mandate that’s needed. On the 28th HMAS Brisbane left Sydney, while HMAS Canberra put to sea from Perth three days ago with an amphibious contingent and an airwing that includes four brand new F-35Bs. Additional assets are available at airbases in northwest Australia. Allied support is not expected.

Your task is to:
- Limit civilian casualties, either from milita action or by collateral damage.
- Identify and eliminate militia forces on Sumba.
- Land Australian troops on Sumba, taking control of both airports and starting the landing of an amphibious regiment.
- Defend deployed Australian assets.

Total Units: >500 units total; 11 ships, 2 subs, 75 aircraft in player control
Scenario Time: 52 hours
