T33 - Kursk/Kharkov
Heavy fighting in front of Kharkov. The flank north of Stalino is becoming worrisome. I move my Panzer Corps in Stalino out of the city to counter-attack and block his advance.

Must retreat to the fort line now. Romanians give up Voroshilovgrad.

T33 - Battles
A stunning number of battles with many routed units. There is even a hasty attack in the mix.

he's doing well in the south, but I've come to the view that pushing up to the Mius line is a bit of a false gain as its such an easy pocket with the Sea of Azov as one flank?
Surprised you let Rzhev go, the rivers make it quite defensible against a north-south offensive, but presume you are not prepared to give up Moscow?

The clock is running here and the next turn is February. I don't think the Sovs are going to make it so far as Moscow goes.

Surprised you let Rzhev go,
I had to. He was starting to surround the city. Moscow is save though. Just like Flavius says. Time is running out.
North of Moscow was his best offensive with many guards formed. The Axis can't be strong everywhere.

It's kind of weird that you have the historical "Rzhev salient" except it's farther east as a Moscow salient. Overall it looks like you are surviving the winter in good shape, and he only has a few more blizzard turns.

T34 - North
Not much going on here but enough to annoy me. My troops are too far away from the rail head and they don't receive many reinforcements. Some divisions have reached 50% TOE.

Difficult situation north of Moscow. He keeps pushing my front south. A nice salient is forming. He also tries again to push through between my fortifications but I have no problems with my counter-attacks. Panzer and motorized divisions receive fuel by transport air planes.

T34 - Kursk/Kharkov
The situation south of Kharkov is becoming very difficult. I now have to use the Romanians to cover some parts of the fronts. Also, I have to use my tanks in the open to push some of his troops back.
Kharkov seems to be safe. I continue to attack out of the city with great success.

T34 - X Corps
It turns out that X Corps has been a very dangerous place this week with two Generals killed within a couple of days. Poor Rudolf Veiel. He was so looking forward to his promotion. [:D]

Very nice Blizzard defense. I recently started using cities as counter attack points for Panzers and it works very well. I like your strongpoint idea where they just whack whatever leaks through.

Holding Kharkov is my top priority.
I follow this rule of thumb in the first blizzard as well. It's the best place to stop the Soviet offensive in the South especially if the area can be fortified in late 1941. It's also a good starting position for the 42 campaign.

Yes this blizzard defense is pretty first rate. To be sure, Oshawott went into it with a commanding position.

Light Urban is gold during blizzard. Of course if he had build nothing but sappers it might have looked different.

Continued heavy fighting south of Rzhev but between Moscow and Orel the front is almost completely quiet. He certainly gained a lot of guard units in this sector.
