I will try but baku is not secured yet and i may need the troops west.
The battle of the day :
I really wished 4000 guns and 400 tanks could do more damage, but the arty divisions have low XP yet.

Fine, if you screw the pooch over 30 admin points, you know who to blame. [;)]
If Pelton outflanks your troops at Makhachkala (which seems very possible) his panzers will be resting in Baku before your get there. The admin points are a much lower priority than holding Baku.

Just remember that you can let them attack alone from two hexes distant if you want to save your men and tanks. But do place them in fortifications if doing this (that should give them a better "to hit" chance).
How many manpower centers do you have left?

If you win, win a glorious and outstanding victory.
If you fail, fail the most crushing defeat either !!

There should be no reason in the world that Soviet National Morale is going up do to what is happening on the map. If anything it should be going down. I will post my suggestion in the WiTE2.0 suggestion folder later on this. Anyway grats on your unit.
Would this not just further create the 'snowball' effect, where one person is losing and the system just pushes them further down? Which is already a problem with this game anyway... But I agree from a realism perspective it makes no sense.

Real events from the game should impact the game, not events from our historical WW2 injected into our game. I even advocate randomizing withdraws and arrivals based on a random event calendar for the Western Allies instead of our historical WW2 flowchart. This way we have our own analogous game with its own set of events.

NM does not equal actual morale is the issue....the problem is overall combat performance is directly tied to the NM levels.
As a units ability to gain experience is directly affected by NM level in the game. So what it more accurately represents is the Soviet army becoming more skilled at modern war as the war drags on, while the Germans start the war with an elite veteran army and it slowly degrades as they scrap the bottom of the barrel manpower wise and reduce training time of recruits that go to units as the war drags on.
It actually does make some sense, the game designers just used stupid terminology.

Turn 79 : 17 December 1942
The good news is that, seeing the arrival of some of my reserves, the evil invader prefered to run away from moscow attack. So i guess it is a victory.
In the caucasus, a new line of defense is building and meteo mage expect mud next turn. It looks like german offensive lost a little steam. Especially in the center.
But now the problem. The supply crisis is upon me !!!!
First, my heavy industry production is not enough to supply all my troops and productions and i have no stocks left.
Second, my winter offensive near kazhan rised the truck requirement from 120K to 150K and i have not enough trucks either. But not a problem as i have no food to deliver :communism:
Please USA send me food and trucks for christmas !!!
I tried to change my armement production as i have to much weapons, but it looks like the cost is 150 political points, which is so huge. (Anyone know if this cost is fixed for all change, even light one ?).
My only chance is that my production will raise in 1943, in 3 turns :

The battle of the day :
Big force advantage, artillerie divisions (still in training), low german looses.
But it is an important battle and it was a test. The german division was entrenched in heavy woods with good fortifications. Still i managed to win the first assault even with combat value looked equivalent (marked 85 in defense).
So i'am able to win a WW1 style verdun battle. It will be very important in 1943 i think i front of moscow.

Turn 80 : 24 december 1942. Merry christmas !!!
Surprisingly my lack of supply is less critical than last turn (i'am now 97% instead of 57%). I also slow down the offensive in the east, it may explain that.
The current state of my stocks :
The event on the turn, is that Walter model, the best german infantry general have been appointed to lead an infantry attack against moscow !!!
I was thinking of an attack in this sector myself, so we will see who have the best infantry now.
I'am sending in first the legendary 56th army (all guard corps and best general). And 6 artillery divisions.
In 2 turns, local troops will be converted to corps at discount price and will assist too.

I have a strange issue with recon. I have very low recon plan production and beginning to have recon issue.
Production of SB2 stopped in 1941. Now i have zero stock left.
I have a 10 production of U2 but this plane is really short range. 10 range is very low for recon.
I have P2R production, which is a good plane, with a prod of... 6 !!!
It is really not enough.

You should have some old recon planes stocks to replace those squadrons empty. Check, some planes in stock are better than U2

Not moving units that much will help some with supply use and alot with Truck use each turn.
Other ways you can manage your supply shortage is to cut back on building some equipment. This is easy find stuff u dont want- like the crappy biplane bomber factories and move just 1 to some other city so it trashes most of them and stops wasting supply building planes you dont want.
its usually best to move these kinds of crappy factories to cities you know the germans are going to capture so you never have to waste resources building them. You might even want to destroy/move some of your multi engine bomber factories as well to save supply on crap planes you prolly wont want long game.

31 december 1942 : Last turn of the year, turn 81
First current victory points, which are not very good.
In the caucasus, the defense crumble with attack from all side and the railroad have been cut. I may have to salvage what i can and fallback near baku soon.
The good news of the turn is the battle for moscow. The ennemy try a 4 side attacks of north moscow with considerable forces and maximum support units, but fail 2 times !!!!
And now my own troops are ready to counter attack in the sector. Moscow will hold !!!

Happy new year and first turn of 1943 !!!
07 January 1943
Time for a little resume of the year.
This was my army end of april 1942, before the german offensive :
Now my army today then looses :
As you can see my army barely grew in men pass spring 1942, while german army looks unaffected by the war.
At the start of spring 1942, my ennemy concentrated on panzer force in one ball in the south. I tried to hold behind multiples layers of defenses, but they were too weak in plains and crushed easily, and i lost 100 divisions in the process and a lot, lot of ground.
But it was necessary to save my army after the initial looses.
Looking at the year, i think i had no chance of holding the german in plain, and should have run earlier. With 100 more trained divisions, i may have been able to hold in the swamp of stalingrad, some place like that. But totally not in plains or my army would have been completely destroyed.
I also managed to hold moscow, which is a success, but the cost was that i was not able to sent any renforcement south because a lot of good troops were fixed around the capital.
I also managed to save my best troops and armies, loosing only regular divisions, but with the core of my offensive army intact.
For the future, my ennemy hope that my manpower production will be too low to ever allow me to built a credible offensive threat.
I intend to try to prove him wrong by building the most artillery heavy army ever. We will see.

For finish, this turn :
Pressure is still here in the caucasus, despite the blizzard.
In the west of the caucasus, these besieged divisions, with low supply and equipment still managed to repel 5 attacks. It is important as the ennemy is trying to built the german railroad pass this city.
True Heroes of the soviet union.

I have around 20 tank corps like this. They are beginning to be efficient.
But they explain also why i lack 30K trucks to supply my troops. And i'am still not sûre what to do with them in 1943. If i'am sending them in deep operation in german territory, i'am sûre never to see them again.

Turn 83 14 January 1942
I'am slowly loosing ground in the caucasus, but my battered troops here do a good show. It is not easy too for the german.
Anywhere else nothing really happens. I need 20/25 turns to convert all my army to corps. And the german army is very strong.
Let's talk about manpower.
Due to 1943 modifier, my manpower production is now only 59K men per turn.
While i loose this much by attrition....
Fortunately, i have also 30K men returning from hospital. But it will be quite hard to raise my army number.
Each turn i lost 50K men and kill 15K german by doing nothing.
For killing german, it is more efficient than allout offensive...
The good news, now supply production is barely enough, but enough.
And my vehicule production is positive due to lend lease. Thanks Usa.
