The attacks by the Japs in China are mostly ineffective so the situation in China is relatively stable, for now.

Glad you were able to re-route those xAKs to EC-USA. I checked the route you were originally planning to use:
CT to PS - 95 hexes
PS to Cristobal- 151hexes
Cristobal to EC USA - 45 hexes
Total 291 hexes/11,640 NM. At 10kts/240 NM a day hexes a day that would take 49 days. Add two days for giving new destinations after arrival at two enroute destinations = 51 days

Direct CT to USA is 170 hexes/6800 NM @ 240 NM a day = 29 days. (rounded up)

After AP Joseph T. Dickman and AP Wakefield were withdrawn from the game this is the list of ships that still need to be withdrawn. I have almost a year until the next ships needs to be withdrawn. BB Warspite is at SFO and will be withdrawn eventually but I can still use it for 435 days yet.

There is a limit to what you can put on Midway. Those two full defense units have artillery and infantry, put an armoured battalion there as well for lots of firepower with limited stacking costs. A combat engineer unit doubles as Infantry and engineers for defending and building a base.

Move in an AS for a submarine depot, later an AR for major repairs of 5 points or less. An AV or two AVD/AVPs will handle a PBY unit if you stack too many ground units there.

HDMLs are Harbour Defence Motor Launches which do well against submarines and small surface craft which try to visit your ports. You can also use them as an Admiral's Yacht if you want to keep the admiral in a TF while the ships go into the port for repairs. That way, you don't lose the PPs, just make the original TF an escort TF.

There's a Jap TF with 2 CV's and a CVL that I just might be able to intercept and attack. There are three, I believe Dutch, subs heading toward the spot that it might be in at some point tomorrow. Maybe.

I'm not sure I understand this last part about losing some PP's. Why would a player lose PP's? To pay for what? Are you talking about an HQ unit when you mention "the admiral" that is said to be staying on an HDML while the rest of the ships move into the port for repairs. Oh, and thanks for all the verbage you laid on me. It comes in handy and I thank you so much.

When you change a task force commander it costs PP, the same with getting new commanders, buying units, etc. Sometimes there is no cost but there usually is a cost. By having the Admiral (TF Commander) on a yacht, you keep him there instead of having to pay for him again when you reassemble the TF. Just put ships in the TF and remove the yacht when you are done repairing the ships.

oh. Yeah, that makes sense. Thank you. I'll do that from now on because I've spent a LOT of my PP's replacing my leaders all over the map, naval, air, and ground. I'd hate to have to buy them back all the time. I'm make an effort to make that part of my routine. It's a great idea.

Dutch subs are indeed the best way of taking on the CVs at this point, but keep them in the deep water hexes if you can. They are fragile in the shallow hexes.

The Japs started landing operations at Rabaul. They have more troops than I have so I'm guessing they will own the base soon. I have some aircraft there that I will have to move before I lose them.

Here's the number of aircraft losses for both sides. So far the Japs are losing more aircraft than I am each turn. That's a good thing and I hope it continues.

I loaded a lot of fuel on some tankers at Pearl and now I'm going to fuel up all the small islands from Johnson Island down to Canton Island and if there's any left over, Pago Pago. A different TF is going to give them all some supply.

The Japs landed at Tulagi last night and it's unoccupied so they will own it this time tomorrow. I've had the hex building forts so it's got very little supply for the Japs and no other resources of any kind in any significant level.
