When failed in 1D10, HQ is not disorganized. Or do you think that caused the bug?

On a 6 US is annoyed (1 chit added to G/I pool).

I do not think that this caused the bug. And you are indeed right in that the HQ is not disorganized.

But if I hadn't used the HQ support then the attack roll would have been a three. A much preferable result. [:)]

German 9-4 INF must be the most experienced unit in this game. It has fought in Netherlands, Belgium, France and Spain. And it has attack to Gibraltar about 5 times [:)] Weaker units have died on left and right...

And Berlin must be running out of reservists for the militia. [:D]

Italian HQ reorganizes German Mil in Seville.

German HQ reorganizes Stuka and 2 artillery in Southern Spain.

Weather stays nice.

Its an interesting one. The Allies were dead meat after the Axis whistlestop journey through France, but then have held the Wehrmacht at bay for about a year or so. This action has undoubtedly helped the Soviets - but at what cost? The British have suffered grievous losses in quality aircraft, ships and transports in defending the Rock - not to mention ground troops.

I am too inexperienced at this version to know, but does anyone have a gut feel for whether the delaying action in Spain has helped - or ultimately doomed - the Allies?

I am rather inexperienced as well, but my gut says "yes" and along with that, the "delaying action" isn't really over with yet.

The Allies still have a force in northern Spain that has to be dealt with and the Axis are also confronted with Allied troops right across from Gibraltar. If the Axis don't do something there, the Allies have a fine bridgehead in Africa to build up strength to threaten to take back Gibraltar.

The German fleet has also suffered with both the battlecruisers going down as well.

I think the biggest thing that has hurt the Allies the most going forward is the attrition their transport fleet has suffered.

Entertaining AAR guys.. keep it going.

The delay that the Allies have inflicted on the Axis in Spain undoubtedly favors the Allies. This game is all about time: the Axis does well at the start of the game; the Allies then have to come back. The Axis got off to a ridiculously good start. However, the Allies then slowed them down so that we have something approaching a normal game. The Allies expect to lose more than the Axis at this stage of the war. The question is, are they gaining time? In this case, the answer is yes.

Courtenay, that is a loaded question and a loaded answer.

Have(are) the Allies gaining time in relation to the incredible start by the Axis? I agree with you the answer is yes. However, the taking of Gibraltar in of itself gains lots of time for the Axis (Italy no longer on the historical time line).

As to an answer to a posed question prior to your post above, I would say the Allies are NOT doomed, but this will be a very interesting game.

The Axis haven't closed the Med totally. Egypt is still under CW control, if I'm not mistaken. And that means that there is a back door for the CW to come back from.

Personally, the only units lost by the CW which really hurts them, are the naval transports. That really makes it more difficult for the CW to put units into North Africa.
All other units lost are expendable ones.

No declarations of war.

Land: China, CW
Combined: USSR, USA
Naval: France

No Port Strikes. No naval air.

US establish a supply link to Pago Pago.

France decline to activate in the Eastern Mediterranean as well as Cape St. Vincent. France do, however, activate their submarine and search for enemy shipping along the Italian Coast.

Will Germany activate their naval bomber? Or will Italy activate their fighter?

Italuan fighter to box 0, unless it is too late to chance my mind.

I noticed CW has no planes that can port strike La Spezia.

Allies rolled three while Axis rolled ten. After much pondering the Allies decide that they will only include the Italian cruiser.

The Allied submarines stay.

Will Italy stay as well? And if they stay will Germany provide any air support for the next round?
