I drove thru there in January on my way to Palm Springs. I was in the LA area on business for 2 weeks. We had to do something on the weekend and I had never been to Palm Springs. Of course now I know where the beautiful Coachella
valley is[:D]

I wish. The area we are in is not bad but it is not great either. Any place where more than 1/2 the signs are in Spanish and every house has a security fence and a dog worries me. From what I am seeing that is most of southern CA.
We went into Huntington Park (the ghetto) to visit some childhood friends of my wife tonite. It reminded me of Newark or Camden but without the sophistication.

The weather is beautiful here. Nice and crisp.

But visiting the in-laws could give one a bad case of the chills - which would be worse then a "crisp day" (depending on one's in-laws of course). [:D][:D][:D]

The in-laws are great but I am sure that the fact that they live 3,000 miles away and I only see them once or twice a year is a factor. [;)]
Aside from being old (70s) and telling stories that have no decernable point (or end for that matter) they are no more annoying than my family. My family on the other hand drive my wife crazy since we see them far more often. I know they are crazy and tune them out while they seem to push my wife's buttons. [:D]
The real shock of this trip has been seeing my 16 year old nephew for the first time in 2 years. He is now taller than me. How did this happen? [&:]

They are nice if long winded and live someplace warm. If they lived in the Dakotas they would not get visited.
At least I know where my wife gets her ability to stretch a 1 minute topic into a 30 minute speech. [:'(][>:]
I believe that comes with having 2 X chromosomes.

Alas, I am back at my desk. [8|] The interview I was supposed to have last week got snowed out and I'm not sure when its being rescheduled. I just received word today that my current company is in major financial trouble. [8|][8|]

On the plus side I managed to sink two of Graycompany's CLs over the weekend without the loss of a single ship, although the California did take a torpedo.

I'd love to save the ship, but yeah, basically, I'm not going down with this one.
