My regular coffee mug is the Stooges. One of them was my on-air moniker during my radio time.
You can't leave it there. What radio time?
Loka is the Tokyo Rose. Didn't you get the memo?

Seven fresh Zero Sentais! Most will go A6M5c, one will go Jack, just not enough Georges to go around. 1-2 Georges for High CAP, and then the A6M5c, Oscar IV and Ki-100I fill the air space below and I am good to go for the next several months. In Feb I should get Frank a, not much, but I don't like the plane -- wouldn't even build it if I thought I could get away with no Frank Rs.

October 3, 1943
The night brings its share of joy for the Empire. Poor Allies are really stretched for destroyers right now, only one escort. He should not have moved it.
Or not, as sinking sounds are immediately heard.
Additionally, intel is reporting the scuttling of the CL Leander near Port Blair...Could it be the Danae? Here is hoping...that would make 1 CA and 3 CLs sunk or caused to be sunk to the Musashi.

Task Force Tanaka spotted...but the LRCAP shoots down every plane. 10/10 DL, sigh, I guess no sneaking up on Rangoon now.

Marcus Falls...but they leave some interesting hits....even some 20cm hits too. Yard time, lots of damaged guns and mounts.

Allied tank army in Burma crossing the river against my battered troops, recently bolstered by a tank regiment. Too little, too late. But more on the way!
No attack by the Allied ground stack at Prome...reinforcements are kind of enroute if he dallies.
More midget sub goodness coming up...along with some mines, and some darring do....or more likely darring sink. Stay tuned.

Presumably because of regs or privacy laws or something, as minors we weren't allowed to use our real names on air. So I went by Curly, as I used to have hobbit hair. I was small time. Didn't understand what made a good show, so I just played music. I should've been more outlandish and creative. I still wouldn't have done radio as a career, but it was fun.

Marcus Island - I don't understand his strategy here?!? He captured it, but how is he going to hold it?? You can take two months to prep for your counter invasion and there is not much he can do about it.
In my game that just ended in August '44, I lost BBs and Enterprise to those damn Japanese subs. [:@] None to aircraft. [X(]

I figured that I crippled two or three light cruisers and maybe even the Suffolk, even though the battle report showed it as sinking. Never trust them, the Boise was shown sinking and then I came across her two days later and put her down for good!
So, I set up this sub line to catch them, not impressive by American standards, it still worked.

I think he is just putting pressure on...my guess. Not a lot of losses, no wonder the game ended in 8/44.[:)]
Here are Allied losses...ah, memories. Getting a battleship to close with a Yank Carrier -- guaranteed to brighten any JFB's day.[:D]

Yesterday's match over TF Tanaka near Mergui.
Those Havoc's are fast....didn't help them here, but another plane I don't like.[:)]
Actually, that is a little misleading as the Tojo IIcs dived on the Havocs and nothing was left alive for the Oscars and Dinahs. Best showing of the IIc all war, actually destroying planes.

If he knows he can't hold Marcus, it could just be a distraction for you, or to eliminate some of your "eyes"... precipitating a move on the Marianas?

If anything, I think he wants one: a carrier clash; and two: the bonins.
He can count the planes at the Marianas -- close to 1000. I am sure he would like to see them stay there.

Look up the B-25H that comes out in early 44. I don't think you want to be in front of one of these.

I have been using the B25J against M-M in Downfall I believe...nasty. I assume the H is slightly inferior, but they really riddle the ships.
I put them on night naval strikes early on and they fly very often and are wonderfully successful.
I was going to compare the Havoc to the B25J in my graphic above, but since the Dinah was involved I thought that was a better addition.
