Fine. Trade war is in armistice, doesn't mean hot war will get cooler:

NOTE: Armistice no more, Trump has backstabbed China as tariffs are initiated.

Henri K on the recent news that CASIC is working on a stealth cruise missile.
http://www.eastpendulum.com/la-chine-de ... ere-furtif
China is in the process of developing a new stealth cruise missile, at least that is what an article published in March on the site of CASIC Haiying Electromechanical Technology Academy, one of the main missile manufacturers of the country .
According to the text - which seems to have been removed recently by the Chinese manufacturer - new composite "sandwich" composite materials, created by an engineer called GONG Yuan Xun (宫 元勋) and his team, are used "very largely "in a certain project that has a high requirement in stealth, and that takes into consideration the" structural stealth "from the beginning of the design, in other words the geometrical / passive stealth.
The team had major difficulties in reconciling the mass, the thickness (of the hull?) And the need for broadband absorption. The obstacles that were eventually overcome in collaboration with the subcontracting factories to improve the training processes, and with the own laboratories of CASIC Institute No. 306.
The article also talks about two other competing institutions in another project for a stealth component, but no link can be established between the two projects mentioned here.
In any case, the Chinese military watcher community is eagerly rumoring about an upcoming Chinese version of the LRASM.

Denuclearization and renuclearization combined in a month, now it's USA's turn: House repels democratics to cancel small-nuke proposal. The 50kT range of low-yield nukes will be fielded as Republicans please, in case of the "limited nuclear war" threats:

Flight route M503's first enemy: Y-8. Taiwan speculated it as ELINT aircraft (GX4) for spying Han Kwang military drill. Meanwhile, China shows zero tolerance to the rogue state as the spokesman said such flying is truly a warning to Taiwan:

This article contends that Chinese incursion into Taiwan's airspace is a
fait accompli. Not so sure. But the piece does mention Taiwan's use of passive radar. The tactical situation makes for an interesting scenario/sandbox. The question is if and when the J20s are detected/intercepted do they leave Taiwan's airspace immediately or not?

I think it's quoted by the Taiwan news that J-20 participated SCS training, and rebuked as China scaring Taiwan and nothing else. I found no actual news about J-20 joining the aerial circuling around Taiwan with other aircrafts.

We all know how patient China is in there matters. If/when Taiwan intercepts a J20 in its airspace they might keep quiet the first time or two, but not for long after that.

I'd be more sincerely concerned to China if J-20 has the need to joining the fight, after thousands of ballistic missile barrage and still can't waste all the airfields. It will be more logical to use as A2AD asset if Japan/US intervenes.
Let's hope Taiwan will learn anything from it before war happened.

Speaking of learning. PLAN's Liaoning conducted a night-time take off and landing exercises, as announced they have completed all the carrier operating tests:

Yes, but I think the article is talking about operations short of all out war i.e. using incursion into Taiwan's airspace to toy with the country's sovereignty. If, as the article states, this is "likely" then its a fairly serious development and something to keep an eye on.

5th Type 071 amphibious assault landing dock has received its pennant number. Commissioning likely soon.
Wikipedia states that the name will be 龙虎山/Longhu Shan/Longhu Mountain. But the pennant number it cites is wrong; not 978 but evidently 980.

This news is a reminder of nuclear weapon research will always reign on, as long as we're living in atomic age. The comment sections has horrible amount of pro-armageddon talks because they only compare China with other nuke-armed countries by the quantity, yet it's very certain, all kinds of nuke war will only escalate into world-ending catastrophe regardless the numbers, and this is what MAD meant:
http://www.scmp.com/news/china/society/ ... perts-warn
UPDATE: Nuclear Arms & Controls spokesman in China has denied the report of SCMP about 'secretive nuclear research'. The gas gun device is for validation check of current stored warheads, not simulating the nuclear yield. He also strongly reminded that China will always oblige the No First-use Policy:

Despite military enthusiasts have poor credibility (especially true to China), the insider's word are rarely undermined. An anonymous insider had 'confirmed' the second indigenous-build aircraft carrier and one LHD are under construction at Shanghai shipyard:

Pop3's message (now-deleted) translation:
"I'll share some happy news. China's third aircraft carrier and LHD construction progress is delightful!"

Finally a genuine picture of the Divine Eagle anti-stealth UAV while in flight. With its twin fuselage housing UHF-AESAs and its 42 meters of wingspan, it would carry out its surveillance mission at near-space altitudes for extended time.

Looks like the microwave hard-kill isn't just for harming human bodies, but also computers. Should CMANO inspect and see if microwave-based jamming could be implemented?
https://arstechnica.com/information-tec ... s-and-pcs/
EDIT: Oops, not microwave. I mean ultrasonic. I just also found it's mostly against hard drives, rather than purely non-mechanical electronics.
