I think it is a bad idea to even joke about opsec leaks-- especially when there are dual AARs. Nothing could create bad blood faster and ruin a great game imho.

Public information is as public information does. Not my leak. Not my monkeys and not my zoo. Nothing wrong with acknowledging that which is plainly stated elsewhere.

This is the reason why I stopped reading and commenting on dual AARs years ago. Now I only read/comment on one side.

My guess is that the individual with the OPSEC "issues" is new to the forums and doesn't understand the significance of his leak. He should be PM'ed by the affected parties and led to understand the nature of the grievance against him.

If it was a significant (and real) breach, Canoerebel probably should have *not* responded in a mutually accessible thread to the original question, but rather quickly plug that breach by PM instead and asked the original poster to kindly delete his post on the matter discretely.

ETA: I will PM the original party and explain my perspective on this matter.

I clicked your link, but it took me to the first page of a very long thread that I am not following. So, I don't know the particulars, but opsec leaks might effect some people really heavily.

I still wouldn't encourage John to mention it although I understand your position.[:)]

Dan had concerns about OPSEC a long time ago and I REALLY try to avoid anything that appears improper.

Just sent this note to Dan:

Hey Dan.

I am writing this from Chris’s computer because I cannot get down to the basement and mine. This afternoon I fell and badly--once again--twisted my left ankle (just like last July). The Doctor warned me that my left ankle might be much more prone to sprains or worse and looks like she is dead right. Have a Doctor’s appointment in the morning. It is bad enough that I might need a cast. I just used a cane to get over to hit room so I can shoot this note off to you.

Will take a strong pain reliever, try to sleep, and then go in to the Doctor. You’ll hear from me when I get home.

John

I am not happy at all about this. STUPID! Don't even know how I truly hurt my ankle. It didn't hurt to start with but has now swollen up and is agonizing...NOT FUN!

I blame the AFB. It isn't broken (again) but the sucker is several nice bright colors and hurts like HELL! Looks like we're back to a cane and boot for a few days. Big smiles.

Will try to do a turn if possible.

Just sent this note to Dan:

Morning Sir.

Just got back. The stupid things isn’t broken (just like before) but it is a mess. My left ankle is a lovely shade of many colors and swollen to beat all heck. My 10 year-old this morning said “Dad you can borrow my computer so you don’t have to hurt yourself more going downstairs.” Good kid!

Have an hour until work so I shall probably not get to the turn. My AAR is heckling me for doing this. Many are blaming the accident on an AFB conspiracy. You haven’t been in LaSalle within the last 24 hours----have you? :>
John

Hope that got a laugh!

Sprain can be more painful than a break. Get better, and take care of yourself![:)]

Thanks Lowpe. My Doctor said the same thing last July when I very nearly broke that ankle. Said it would be weak from that point on. Well...

The dratted Allies proclaim their innocence:

Well, I'm glad it isn't broken. High sprains are seriously painful injuries of themselves, but usually so much less expense to deal with than an actual break.

How in the heck are you gonna work today?

No, I haven't been to LaSalle yet. My promise to come is a long term one. And I promise not to inflict actual physical harm on you when I do show up.

You don't need any help in that regard!
