the 5th. has been assigned to defend the low countries.

It is smaller than the 1st but has a much easier area to defend.

I am concerned that all cities don't have a small Militia unit assigned but the Fuhrer assures me that small mobile armored units can handle any problems that may arise and that he cant afford to feed a bunch of useless mouths.

the 9th army is tasked with defending southwest and southern France.
so for now we have 4 armies doing nothing but defending our territory in the west while getting fat, lazy and chasing french women.

We are going to have to rely heavily on our Allies the Hungarians,Bulgarians and The Romanians.
This is the Hungarian 1st,2nd and 3rd armies. The Hungarians assure me that they have been building up and reinforcing their armies to German standards and that they will be capable of completing their objectives.

The Bulgarians are already committed to Turkey and the defense of Greece.

My two armies that liberated Greece ,the 1st Romanian and the Wiking SS are now moving to the east, for now I am keeping them out of the winter zones to conserve supply.

Also a look at the makeup of a SS panzergrenadier division.

The SS Wiking HQ, noticed the large amount of horses ?
this is because I just now was able to upgrade the panzergrenadier units to fully Motorized from horse.

I have very few motorized armies most are foot or horse.

I did a little research on the SS and historically they didn't seem to have any full armies only divisions but I found the name of three divisions I liked and have used them in this game.

they are
SS Prinz Eugen
SS Das Riech
SS Wiking.

If I am able to create a 4th SS army I will look for an additional historic name.

Feb. 42, Soviet Union

During the last turns I tried to prepare SU as good as possible for the upcoming war. As written before SU starts with warfooting of 20 percent. Production was set mainly on PP and some lower extent to supply, mainly to keep some units mobile to move them into position. Storing PP enabled me to raise warfooting each turn up to 63 percent in Feb 42, although the last three turns I changed production to get more supply, more staff and some engineers. All HQs start with around 20 percent of staff and supply needed. The amount of both is still not sufficient but not as bad as in the beginning. Some HQs have enough engineers to be able to blow bridges. This might slow down the enemies advance. As I normally deploy local HQs and get them supplied locally I can blow bridges wherever possible. In case the enemy is standing at the outskirts of a city the engineers shall blow all facilities. In some cities this did not work as well as intended due to groups of engineers being too small. But at Riga for example the facilities are down to the ground and next turn the Germanys will capture a totally destroyed city. SU has no choice than this to survive the war long enough. Sooner or later West may help, but there is nothing like this in view as West is struggling hard to survive itself. (Situation in the West is really frustrating and I will make some comments later, why I think situation of West should be improved.)

think I found a bug
game shows I still have 600 manpower but it will not let me build any infantry or assault infantry or heavy infantry.

also a question on manpower.

does 1 infantry = 1 manpower and 1 tank = 1 manpower ?

That's odd. May be a reporting bug, possibly based on when during the turn the report is generated compared to when units are built. It's actualy about 3 manpower per SFT. You were able to build up until thus turn correct?

Let me know what things look like next turn...we'll see if it was because you ended up running out of manpower and there was just a reporting error.

the next turn my manpower (regular) dropped to 200, but I quit making regular infantry and am just making elite and my manpower has climbed back up to 500. I am slowly replacing some regular infantry with elite infantry in all my divisions. So I have plenty of regular manpower now, it was basically a error on my part for making mostly regular infantry and not enough elite because of cost. As I pull 10 regular infantry and replace it with elite from each Division I wind up with plenty of regular infantry in reserve and no longer have to produce it to keep my losses replaced. Its a logistics pain in the rear but its my own fault.

ok the attack on Russia was launched a couple turns ago.

a look at the Finnish advance on Leningrad.
Notice the strong Russian divisions up north. I spotted them because i was going to try and cut the road to Murmansk but will withdraw instead.

The Finns have taken the forts and are moving to Leningrad. They are performing very well and are very strong units.

a quick look at my forces across the front.

The North, I had my strongest armies in this area figuring that taking Leningrad would be hard.
