What happens if a 100plane per month ki61a factory has produced say 1,2,or 3 planes and then I switch it to 61d? My reading indicates the factory goes into R/D on the ki61d providing 100 research points per month. Net effect is to cut reseach time in half.
And in theory, the same situation applies to the a6m2 and the a6m8!!!
And also to the a6m3 and any plane in this tree.
for example, currently I produce 100 a6m2 per month. the a6m8 arrives at 10/43 iirc.
So if I stopped a6m2 and changed factory to a6m8 then the plane would be available at 1/43.

Well no actually cause the a6M2 upgrades to the Sen Baku ...
As for arrival dates 100 R&D doesn't always give you 100 R&D points / month - it depends on the size of the R&D facility (larger isn't always better) ... that's why I believe size 30 factories are the most efficient.

R/D- I have thought about taking the a6m2 production and converting all the factories to R/D a6m8, which is in the development tree. Soposedly the m8 would then be available in jan43.

overview-- I need to increase my average merchies to about 950. I can cut some of my naval production...
average naval needed--about 1200 per turn.
average merchant needed, about 950 per turn.

chart--oil production will really increase as the transport conversions take place...28 extra oilers each w/ 2850 carry capacity.

average Hi needed for shipbuilding. Nte I am at turn 209. The Naval builds seem to taper off but I will need to increase Merchies about 150 soon.

While working my tracker I noted the upgrade for the A6M3b is the A6M4. so I was looking for my research on the a6m4...ummm...dont see any.. I guess the 3b factories will auto roll over to A6M4 production..Am I correct...??
Also noted IIRC I have not done any work on the naval fighter research program...

I see some confusion between modded Scen 70 and stock here. In stock the last Ki-61 model upgrades to to Ki-100 and A6M2 upgrades to Sen Baku. This is not true in Scen 70.

So if you increase factory production as in this case does production stop until the factory is repaired?
If yes, then it is important for large production runs to use two factories. this way you can increase production on one factory while the other continues to provide units for plane completion.
Edit- I converted 2 different engine factories to Ha34, so not a mistake. Just a happenstance.
Where did you get this and where can I??? Is it correct? THX

You DO NOT want to cut Naval Production. In about 18 months it will need around 2000 per turn. Just accumulate for now.
The same problem occurs with Merchant Points, but you do not need Merchant Ships ASAP. Increasing it is not recommended.

I made it myself and I am not sure I am completely correct...Some updates have changed some frames/engines since I made the excel chart.

The Ki61 plan. I note the Tojo is about ready to enter service. Looks like two months early. Reminder to myself I need to increase HA-60 production to about 60 starting in september.

Planes call for consolidation of the transport production. Army transport will be the Ki49 kia. Navy the emily-l..
factories will be converted as follows:
Thalia-a6m2
theresa to a6m2
topsy to a6m5 r/d

Increased the Topsy2 to 12 planes per month and plan to replace the topsy w/ the ki49 helen KAI transport in 43....also increased the ki49 r/d to 30.
Increased Singapore repair dock from 50 to 100. Seem to have alot of damaged ships in this vital area.
Looked at large resource concentrations and moved base force/ or fleet HQ to site to resolve some shipping issues.
Reassigned damaged ships at singers to 2nd fleet located at singers.
Seems hard to maintain fleet/ship area assignments. I bet the closer a ship is to the fleetHQ the lower the maintenance damage to the ship.
Date is 8-1-42.

On this August industry chart notice the differential from july in oil and HI. The transport conversions really make a difference. Currently working on in game adjustments w/ naval support units to increase the flow of resources back to Home.
Thinking about spliting 3rd fleet and place some at each little island that produces resources..
