this engagement pretty much confirms what we have said recently, a single ship will fire at every ship it is fired from and in the case of the Japanese, it means these ships constantly turn out as super heroes... you just have to read below's combat summary which shows that Myoko fired like wild, literally knocking out my Brit/US cruiser force... all of those hits were either penetrating or exploded in the super structure, leaving my two British heavy cruisers in a poor state... once again an IJN super hero result we see just too often but one can keep insisting this is all fine... Myoko's belt armor was strong enough to see the British 8 inch shells bouncing from longer range...
so with the way it is working, you see one cruiser putting out more shells than four cruisers together... clear IJN victory... would there have been a second IJN CA we would probably not have a single ship left... this is a daylight encounter for those that would like to bring up another argument how super hero like the IJN was in night engagements...

Cornwall was so heavily damaged by Myoko that she was split off the cruiser squadron and she's retiring to Perth together with DD Encounter... amazingly enough, Dorsetshire was still part of this TF, it was Boise to sink Shinonome with 6 inch shell hits...

WOW! I just can't believe that bluebook really only covers this huge armada (there are more than just this TF in the hex) with only one heavy cruiser and not even halve a dozen destroyers... imagine if our cruiser squadron would have performed as you would expect it during a daylight engagement of a far superior force vs a totally outgunned enemy, we would probably have whiped out halve of this convoy... we sink one and heavily damage another freighter but ground losses are severe already... this is what I earlier called "not working according to plan" for the enemy... am sure this convoy is carrying at least one IJA div... and there should be another surprise for the IJN...
there wasn't a single escort for this troop convoy...
we pay with two heavy and one light cruiser in a pityful state, all three of them in worse state than Myoko... while they aren't in imminent danger of sinking another engagement with enemy cruisers would probably finish them, don't want to think about the IJN CV showing up but they are still covering the invasion at Port Augusta... mistake, BIG mistake...

I have moved my base forces out of Clark Field, those units alone used up 80% of all supply there, they are now on suicide mission... NEVER, I say NEVER have flak guns at a base under siege when you can't bring in supplies, no notable effect but those units alone will use up all your supply...

ordered my bombers from Melbourne to attack the enemy tank Army landing at Port Augusta and in good weather we do some nice damage... this attack nearly had the PBEM being abandoned as result as I was told that this turn had to be redone because I have used my B-17 at 6000ft. Now there was never a hr for 4E A2G attacks, only for nav attack below 10000ft and I replied that I would never redo that turn... I was forced into a new hr of no 4E on ground attack below 10000ft as result, otherwise my opponent would have dropped the game as he said the 4E (not even three dozen of them mind you) would kill his Army in Australia alone... [8|] funny, someone throws all realism over board doing those crazy invasions that are nothing but pure game fantasy and then insists my 4E are too powerful - this is Babeslite, bomb effect was HALVED!
at least in the end he had to admit that there was no hr I have broken but the game only continued with a new hr on 4E... that the 40 Marauders did far more damage here is for sure...
we identified leaking Cap from two enemy CV and a CVL...
