7/29/42 Yesterday a small allied BB group bombarded one of the Marshalls (I believe it was Majuro). It appeared to have a CV in it, perhaps for recon purposes. I had a small CVL/CVE group in the area and attempted to intercept, with no luck. Here is a minor action from that day.

7/30/42 The next morning an allied CV force appeared and attacked some ships in Kwajelein harbor. Both groups sighted each other and approache the other to attack. My group was fastest on the draw.

Technically the weather was in my favor, however storms over my land bases prevented any attacks from that quarter.

I shall now patiently await his pathetic pleas for the terms of his capitulation. Here's another action from that day.

I may require extra time to consider the means of bringing your utter destruction tomorrow, miserable earthling.

Sorry, I've probably confused you. I posted his initial attack twice and mine nonce. Here it is.

7/30/42 I got lucky, almost. I might have had a better chance in lower visibility to get some hits before they ran away.

As you can see here, he has split his forces. Some of the carrier planes surviving mad a counter strike. On Roi Namur I have some Bettys, but even though they had clear skies they refused to attack. Don't know why.

The General Staff has developed a new strategy which we will implement immediately. We call it
Operation Opossum. You can see it illustrated below.

Here is an Australian Possum. Also a marsupial but in a different Suborder from the American Opossum. Most people pronounce them the same. As far as I know the Possum doesn't play dead even though the behavior is called "playing possum".
edit: changed "Order" to "Suborder". While the Opossum has a prehensile tail, I believe the Possum does not.
